I've got some friends and family members involved with NSA and electronic gathering technology that resulted from the Patriot Act, where we were at ten years ago and what it's become now would completely freak people out.

The farthest I'm going to go here is to say that each and every person has a file of everything that has ever been done or seen by them, every recorded thing that has ever been filed, every email and internet search. The degree to which a person can be typed and categorized is freaky. The technology can even identify someone by something a person writes based on past writings. The more prolific the person is social media wise the easier that is. The problem used to be sorting the vast data stored, that has been highly effectively addressed.
