Funny, reading the opinion of the posts on this topic reminds me of the parable of the blind men who have never come across an elephant before and who learn and conceptualize what the elephant is like by touching it. Since each one touches and feels a different part of the elephant, their conceptualization is formed by their own experience. Isn't that what we are doing here?

It's a shame that we often focus on who is in the right, and who is responsible for this or that. Which religion is peaceful, and which is not.

Examples can be offered both supporting or refuting claims on both sides.

What is important now, is that we try to keep an open mind, and treat each other as we ourselves wish to be treated.
