It's a way to guarantee that he doesn't get a penny for his wall which is why, if he has an offer, he would be wise to take it instead of coming away with nothing at all. It was just 2017 that he was offered 25 million and threw it away because of DACA. He could have had his entire wall but got nothing just to placate a people who have to v**e for him which begs the question of whether he can do it again...

Proud, from what I have read, declaring a National Emergency will entail court challenges from any number of Blue State AG's probably originating in the 9th circuit which is owned by the liberals.

Having said that, I believe the 350 or so miles of wall will be build by directing funds from other programs that are the discretion of the president previously approved by congress. There is no way that Trump will concede on this issue to the liberal Democrats. What really gets my goat are the Republican negotiators on the committee that is purportedly willing to accept $1.5 billion. Their constituents should raise holy hell with them and v**e them out of office durning their next primary.

He's already declared a national emergency at the border in an EO back in Dec. '17. No fanfare, no big announcements, just laying the foundation for what he's going to do. Between then and now, there has been enough evidence, through DHS investigations, to prove that human trafficking of children (85% that were separated from their non-relative traffickers), women being brutalized and raped (as well as the children) and major drug busts, is happening and that it is time to act on that EO regardless of what Pelosi thinks or wants.
The last time President Trump accepted a paltry amount of $ for border security to keep the government open he said he would never do it again. If I were a betting person, I'd bet that he isn't going to accept their slap in the face and will do what he's known he's going to have to do.
