Trump lied to get on with Making America Great Again.

Some senators etc. Republicans. Were very bitter against the Confederacy inc R.E. Lee who turned on the country that gave him his whole life. But still the language from the right was pretty mild compared to today.
Most Dems h**ed Lincoln although many of them...particularly Southern Dems. Knew little or nothing about him. Remember they didn't even allow Lincolns name on the b****t in several southern states.

We were a more civilized country back than, but things were very tenuous, which included within the parties, the Whigs were imploding, Democrats were dividing and the Republican party was emerging. I'm sure many Dems from the south (AKA Dixiecrats) didn't like Lincoln, it was rocking the boat of a habitual and traditional way of southern life. look how nasty things get with just the conversation of raising the minimum wage, with the cost of living doubling but minimum wage being stagnant for a decade, who is that fair to, or maybe I should say who is that unfair to?

Your premise that the US Government wouldn't thoroughly check out a candidate to approve their validity and credibility for applying for the position of the POTUS is very naive, to say the least. You think they would ignore the rule to be a born or naturized citizen? Please think for a minute.

They did, and they are still doing it. James Clapper was instrumental in creating documents for obama, the experiment that America bought. The poison pill America swallowed.
The c**p occurred silently as obama stocked the bureaus and offices with t*****rs willing to fundamentally change America. And they are still trying.

Just for clarification on 'TDS'....

Trump Derangement Syndrome (TDS) is a satirical psychological diagnosis used to explain the hysterical reaction and belligerent behavior of people, directed towards anything related to President Donald Trump, as pertaining to his presidency. It isn't intended to be a logical argument, rather a jab at another individual's excessive emotional reactions as well as aggressive physical displays. It is an ad hominem argument, not a strawman argument as suggested by another definition.

For example, here is the clearest example of 'TDS':

Trump Derangement Syndrome (TDS) is a mental condition in which a person has been driven effectively insane due to their love of Donald Trump, to the point they will abandon all logic and reason.

Symptoms for this condition can be very diverse, ranging from r****t or xenophobic outbursts to a complete disconnection from reality. TDS can also often result in the sufferer exhibiting violent, homicidal, or even genocidal desires, particularly against residents from foreign countries.

Sufferers have also been known to wish direct self-harm on themselves (such as increased tariffs, a desire for tax cuts heavily favoring corporations and the 1%, infringement of first amendment rights, and even the destruction of NATO for comrade Putin), provided that action was initiated by Donald Trump.

Paranoia is also a common symptom of TDS. Sufferers have been known to believe that they are in some way being persecuted when their Trump related beliefs are questioned, and in some cases believe they are about to be a victim of an immigrant related crime. The paranoia does however not seem to be bad enough to make TDS sufferers attempt to actually becoming informed and think for themselves.

If properly treated, suffers of TDS can make a full recovery. Many sufferers have been known to grow out of TDS, yet many can only be treated by having their condition directly treated through the application of logical reasoning. It is known that products containing mole can exacerbate the condition.

P.S. Rumor has it there is another definition of 'TDS.'

Very apt post to follow most if not all of Mikeyavelli's posts. He definitely seems disconnected from reality.

Seem to particularly apply to Mikeyavelli.

I sincerely doubt this section applies to Mikeyavelli, in my opinion, he is too far gone and not susceptible to any form of logic or reasoning. His conspiracy theories are too deeply rooted and I fear any logic and reasoning will be considered to be "f**e news" to any sufferers this far gone.

Are you old enough to remember how crude and h**eful Republicans were to Obama and his family? How is it you conservatives always point to how h**eful we are but you totally forget that you cons were the same towards Obama times ten? Hell, you still want to put him in jail for something...anything, I don't think you people really care. At least with Trump, there are actual charges that can be filed against him if you people would just open your eyes.

As for the media...how is the mainstream media suppose to treat Trump? Fox is the propaganda arm of the Republican party so is mainstream media suppose to join in on the propaganda. We are sitting here throwing glowing attributes at Wallace simply because any kind of objective reporting is almost nonexistent with Fox. Doesn't that tell you that maybe there is something wrong with Fox?

So what on earth are you expecting from mainstream media? When I listened to the evening news we got Trump's version of El Paso and then we got Beto's version of El Paso. Since I lived in the area for 8 years and freely walked back and forth across the border without any fear for my life I tend to belive Beto's version of things simply because they are also backed up by statistics and my personal experience. Trump was standing there blowing smoke out of his ass trying to scare us into giving him money for an unnecessary wall.

Trump is on a fear campaign trying to scare us into supporting his wall and in doing so he is both lying and using the most obscene form of propaganda possible. Don't expect mainstream media to support his propaganda and lies. That's what Fox is for not mainstream media. The only side the media should support is the t***h. If you think Fox is telling you the t***h then there is nothing else I can say except look at your self before you start pointing your finger at others because everything you are blaming on the left you were just a guilty of with Obama...

Actually I am old enough to remember the Obamas and their borrowed daughters and the money they spent frequently and fluidly. I also remember that the media loved them and all the gush. I don’t recall anyone badmouthing them after what happened to Bob the plumber. We were afraid a nd with good reason

Your syntax is pathetic. In English, you took the road that wasn't on Frost's map.
You wound up in Averageland, home of every "Independent", including the most famous Averagelander, Humpty Dumpty, who sat on a wall, not knowing which side to take and was also very fragile.
You are right that I am a proud Trump supporter. I prefer that the First Lady is the foreigner and not the president.

Wallace and Shepard both seem to have retained their objectivity. The proof is that conservatives h**e what they say...

Wallace and Shep Smith are both nuts.

Thank you, Carol for even knowing that the obama daughters were RentaKids from Chicago.
The obamas were not the people America thought they were.

If you think the syntax is pathetic, get hold of The Urban Dictionary, as my post is a cut 'n paste of one of their definitions of 'TDS.' There are a few of 'em. And, if by chance we meet on any road, feel free to find out if I'm fragile...or not.

It's even worse than your common core command of English. You should celebrate your mediocrity, it's what Independents do to keep from despair and try to understand bad poetry for inspiration. Things should be better for you now. You have Halexandria Obamio-Castrio to inspire you at a level that you can understand.
Both nil. Chances of us meeting. And you kicking my schumer. Trust me on both.
