Toms chicken soup----- Put a whole chicken down in a pot of water--cover it and place in oven at 325. Go to work all day long----Get home and remove the bones with a slotted spoon--- add a package of egg noodles and a stick of butter. salt and pepper to taste. You can doctor this up if you want but I like it simple.

...use the shell for water...brilliant.
Broth will stay clear if you cook the noodles in water separately and add them at serving time. I used to make noodles, but now I 😐buy them.

That's why I said if you want to spend some time. Too often we have to settle for packaged noodles, because we just don't have all day to roll them out and let them dry. But boy oh boy when we do, you just can't beat homemade chicken and noodles. As a matter of fact homemade ANYTHING beats pre-packaged. My daughter is such a good cook that when she and her husband go out for date night, they are constantly disappointed in the quality of the meals. Usually they eat first and then go out.

That's how we do it...
Some things are too convenient nowadays... I admit to the same... But home-made trumps store-bought everytime....

I've had home made noodles with the nuclear weight of Uranium.
Some folks don't know their moms are bad cooks till they go to jail. They see "Home Cooking" and they run.
Going down to minus 11 or so tonight.
Beef soup with elbow macaroni and some tight meatballs.

I'm a Republican. I live in a house with heat and hot water. They h**e me for it, but I will cover up snugly and watch it all happen.
Wednesday morning is supposed to be 16 below. But we'll be leaving for Florida for the month.

You must be thinking about the guy that lives up the street. We are all Republicans here. Yep! That includes Trump lovers.

I'm gonna need a bigger stew pot maybe like those giant electric kettles we had back on base. We can haul it in my pickup.

If you want to spend some time, make your own noodles. My great-grandmother's recipe is:

The amount of eggs depends on how many noodles you want, in general 2 eggs serves 4 unless you can eat a lot of noodles...there's 6 in my family, we use 4 eggs
put eggs in a bowl
measure an egg's worth of water for each egg...use the shell
1 tsp salt
add flour and make a stiff dough
roll out...the thinner the better, let dry thoroughly
cut into squares or strips...we like squares
cook 12-15 minutes covered, then uncover and cook 12-15 minutes
enjoy

This is the best home-made noodle recipe I have ever tried, try it yourself and you will love it.
If you want to spend some time, make your own nood... (show quote)
