The walls around San Diego work. Exactly why they dig tunnels. Which are much harder to do. Walls aren’t built on fear. Do you just think everyone who wants in should walk across? Walls have worked in Turkey, Jordan, Israel to name a few. I don’t care what the American people are getting spoon fed by the open borders media. I listen to the men and women who do the job. They unanimously agree walls would help.

Walls are definitely built on fear, they are built for protection are they not? Or for control, since the beginning. What's going to prevent them from just walking around to an opening? You going to fence in the whole country? That screams fear.

You want to stop people from coming, which has already happened, help them in their own country. Look at N. and S. Korea. What other countries have walls, maybe two? You tell me. Even Russia "tore down their wall", this doesn't seem not right to you? Maybe we should install posts with machine guns and motion detectors.

The real problem is the economy and dictators, remedy those two things will be way ahead of the game.

Apples and oranges. Since we have crime no matter what we do should we get rid of police? How do you help them at home? Dictatorships aren’t good about spreading the wealth. Call it fear if you want. It’s common sense. Walls funnel people to areas. What do you want? Say I’m not scared and let everyone in ? Makes no sense.

Perhaps intellectually prudent when you think of things like this~~More so for safety first~~~

Do you know 77 walls have been erected since 9/11??? Were they out of fear or safety measures???

From 7 to 77: There's been an explosion in building border walls since World War II...

Nations have been building border walls for ages, but the number has soared since World War II.
USA TODAY
BUDAPEST, Hungary — At the end of World War II, there were seven border walls or fences in the world. By the time the Berlin Wall fell in 1989, there were 15, according to Elisabeth Vallet, a geography professor at the University of Quebec-Montreal.

Today, as President Trump pushes his campaign promise to build a wall on the border with Mexico, there are at least 77 walls or fences around the world — many erected after the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks in New York City and at the Pentagon.

Construction work is carried out where a section of the U.S.-Mexico border wall is being upgraded on April 18, 2018, in Calexico, Calif.

More: Trump isn't the only one who wants to build a wall. These European nations already did it...

Think Berlin, china, India, Israel, West Bank, Ireland etc...

I have yet to see why Schumer, Bo etc wanted a wall even approved for significantly more money, got it yet never did anything with the wall?? Why and why now don’t they want that wall they sold when in office???

Schumer saving 5 billion here for the 29 billion he wants for his tunnell???

I guess with 4,000 American citizens murdered by i******s, thousands more sexual assaults, robberies, drunk driving injuries and deaths and more, Americans shouldn't be afraid of this invasion of 60,000 i******s streaming across our border each month, especially since the left in this country is focused on protecting i******s instead of protecting American citizens. Of course Americans are afraid of the consequences of open borders. Will a wall stop every single illegal, probably not, but right now where we have walls/barriers on the border they do exactly what they are supposed to do, vastly reduce illegal entry into this country. Democrats and their ministry of propaganda aren't opposed to a wall/barrier because they are ineffective, they are opposed to them because they work, and the Democrats and media know it.
And hasn't the left, especially elected Democrats, denounced "nation building", they and their lap dog media savaged Republican presidents who said they wanted to advance democracy around the world. But now it's perfectly fine if it keeps the border open.

Well said Rick...

What we have done in the past to try and stop i******s hasn’t worked... Time to change same old, same old and get out of the box with a little innovation...

Actually I’m past a wall, Close the borders, all of them right now.. Line them with National guard and keep them closed until we get a handle on what’s here and get them out.. Closed for as long as it takes then when we open them, have a max cap of 50k and they provide vetting documents we can verify, if they can not then no entry..

Well, walls are built on fear. I think we're not addressing the real problems. A partial wall what is that going to do? What about the tunnels that they've been digging since around 1990 Now they've gotten even more sophisticated, with solar and rail system.
Walls can lock people in as much as locking them out, maybe we should ask the public of the countries with walls how do they feel about them?

These poor starving mothers with children have no intention of dighing tunnels.

The desperate drug smugglers may if they can be hidden well enough, but that's doubtful.

The wall/fence is not able to keep all the criminals out, just slow them down long enough so reinforcements can get to the area and stop them.
