I would rather say that it isn't so much left or right, but politicians in general, as well as religion of all stripes. Dumbing down the population benefits both groups, in that both require faith in their abilities and dogma. Allowing critical thinking in either realm is detrimental to the power of those groups. And yes, it's been going on for decades. An example is the demand for inclusion of Creationism as an equal of evolution in the school curriculum. Once we do that, the entire process of critical thinking goes out the window because of the lack of the ability to question the theory..

Actually it IS the left that has destroyed our education system, as they have been in charge of it for over 60 years, (the curriculum, the inability to fire poor quality teachers, social experimentation in lieu of education.) All politicians may benefit, but it is the left's agenda that has been implemented to the detriment of society, as totalitarian philosophies always harm societies. Of course as a l*****t you don't want to admit this. And your attack on religion is just part of the left's totalitarian agenda. The very same Godless agenda has been implemented in numerous countries world , over the last 100 years, not even ancient history, the results have been over 112 million murdered at the hands of their own utopian governments, without question I might add.

I was arrested and jailed tried in court for challenging the Beaverton School district. Who knew? ! I just became aware of the fraud in 2014. At 75 and the US Navy tested me IQ at 67 a 68 gets one into Mensa. They are very good in the swamp.

There was a time when people with an 8th grade education were more educated than current first year college students. It's been some time but I read an article that said most adults today couldn't pass an 8th grade final exam given to rural schools in 1910-1912. The left has been in charge of our educational system for over 60 years, and has tried to quash critical thinking sk**ls and replace them with mindless group-think. So actual knowledge is no longer important, just do as you're told, like everyone else. And let those who are smarter and better decide things.

I have recently gotten custody of an 8th grader. OMG! He and his friends are so stupid. I love the kid but he is as dumb as a sack of rocks. lol I turn on a talk show while driving, get the topic at hand, turn it off, and start a discussion. At least he is hearing another side of the story.

Democrats said they weren't sure the citizenship test would be beneficial to students.

That is absolutely the T***H. A friend of mine from Iowa showed me a test, that at one time all 8th grade students (the highest in 1800's) had to past to graduate, believe me most collage graduates today could not pass period.

Require constitutional test for ALL politicians to be elected as well as judges. Require memorizing preamble to constitution. If they feel is goes against what they feel is their rights then don't run for office or graduate from high school.

FYI the Preamble is not part of what was ratified.

Ron, I never stated the preamble was part of the constitution, only that as part of the history and reason for the preamble that it should be understood and remembered especially by those that are sworn to preserve and protect that sacred document. As I learned in the eighth grade in 1953. Lesson learned, lesson remembered.

Hello, I did not say you did, only FYI. Many people believe it is. Some even think that it forms a new and different "union". I graduated high school 1956. So we are not that far apart.
