As Archie's thread, 'What are y'all gonna do' suggests, neither side should try to silence the other. Reading another's opinion is always optional. One always has the right and ability to accept, deny or simply ignore it.

As far as 'TDS' goes...Trump Derangement Syndrome (TDS) was originally a made up condition, conceived as a derisive label by the alt-right to attack anyone who criticizes or refuses to support Donald Trump. The idea being that others are so obsessed with Trump that many have collectively lost their minds. Unfortunately like many of their other little online crusades, this has backfired. People dislike Trump for actual reasons which often go well beyond just politics or partisanship, and if anyone has 'TDS', it's often those that blindly support him. Too many (not all) have lost their sense of morality, religious convictions, principles, objectivity, all discernment, and sometimes even the ability to have a civil discussion. So the term has now been co-opted by others to refer to Trump supporters who are blinded by their unrealistic devotion to Trump.

Also: Trump Derangement Syndrome (TDS) is a mental condition in which a person has been driven effectively insane due to their love of Donald Trump, to the point they will abandon all logic and reason.

Symptoms for this condition can be very diverse, ranging from xenophobic outbursts to a complete disconnection from reality. TDS can also often result in the sufferer exhibiting violent, homicidal, or even genocidal desires, particularly against residents from foreign countries.

Sufferers have also been known to wish direct self-harm on themselves (such as increased tariffs, a desire for tax cuts heavily favoring corporations and the 1%, infringement of first amendment rights, and even the destruction of NATO for comrade Putin), provided that action was initiated by Donald Trump.

Paranoia is also a common symptom of TDS. Sufferers have been known to believe that they are in some way being persecuted when their Trump related beliefs are questioned, and in some cases believe they are about to be a victim of an immigrant related crime. The paranoia does however not seem to be bad enough to make TDS sufferers attempt to actually becoming informed and think for themselves.

If properly treated, sufferers of TDS can make a full recovery. Many sufferers have been known to grow out of TDS, yet many can only be treated by having their condition directly treated through the application of logical reasoning. It is also known that products containing mole can exacerbate the condition.

In short, Trump Derangement Syndrome (TDS) is a satirical psychological diagnosis used to explain the hysterical reaction and belligerent behavior of people, directed towards anything related to President Donald Trump, as pertaining to his presidency.

Well put Mr. Slattern. When I first heard the expression I thought some clinician had actually circumscribed a new condition based on the presenting symptoms of the President’s occasionally unhinged behavior and given it a name based on the sufferer. You know, like Lou Gehrig’s Disease.

I am not licensed to make psychiatric evaluations but Collins Dictionary says “Derangement is the state of being mentally ill and unable to think or act in a controlled way.”
That does seem to fit the boy to a tee so every time I hear “Trump Derangement Syndrome” my mind defaults to that association. Most unfortunate.🙂

Do you mean a source of a source as I use Yahoo?

It is best to use all sources to obtain 'fair & balanced' view of the news. Then, one can glean that which is worthy, and toss the rest...at their discretion, of course.

Admittedly, I limit intake from certain outlets. But, I do not let it disallow taking in their unreliable and questionable broadcasts. I need & want to know from where they're coming, however ludicrous.

Touche', Jake, as I also watch 'em all.

Well, Jake, I should've included your civility and sense of humor. You serve as a reminder to all OPPers that we Marines are Boy Scouts.
