Indeed?

Yep. just as God told Moses to free His people from the heathen Egyptians, God told Donald Trump to free Americans from the heathen liberals. Said to tell them "I AM here to kick ass and chew bubble gum, and I'm all out of bubble gum."

You Trump minions are a sad commentary on the current state of our country.
Perhaps Trump isn’t quite as exonerated by Mueller as he’s been saying. He’s now on a tearing rampage denouncing all present and former staff who dared to bad mouth him under oath to Mueller.

A chilling op-ed in today’s NYTimes by author Katherine Stewart, who has extensively studied and written about the Christian right, says that the far right have been pushing a meme for several years now that Donald Trump, conman and egomaniac, has been sent by God to be “a vessel for the purposes of the faithful” in the role of King of the United States of America.

Unbeknownst to people with even a tenuous grip on reality, prior to the midterms a thousand theaters showed “The Trump Prophecy,” a film about a firefighter who, in a blinding orgiastic epiphany, picks up a Bible and turns to Isaiah 45, “which describes the anointment of King Cyrus by God.” Get it, Isaiah “45” — Trump “45”? What more proof do you need, right?
Stewart goes on, saying that evangelical author and speaker Lance Wallnau has said:

I believe the 45th president is meant to be an Isaiah 45 Cyrus [who will] restore … us from cultural collapse.

And in this telling it is not at all paradoxical that Trump is a non-believer intent on wrecking our democracy and government. Apparently the story of Cyrus is of a nonbeliever who becomes the first emperor of Babylon (“Babble-on” — it’s all starting to come together now, isn’t it?) and frees the Jews.
Stewart provides numerous quotations from across the spectrum of the religious right leadership pushing this meme that God sent Trump to be King, including Tony Perkins of the Family Research Council and Ralph Drollinger who leads weekly bible study groups at the White House attended by Mike Pence and members of the Cabinet.
In her article Stewart confirms our worst suspicions about wThis isn’t the religious right we thought we knew. The Christian nationalist movement today is authoritarian, paranoid and patriarchal at its core. They aren’t fighting a culture war. They’re making a direct attack on democracy itself.
And, according to Stewart, Trump has been egging them on, goading their preachers for becoming too “soft” — as he openly muses about becoming “President for life”.

A chilling op-ed in today’s NYTimes by author Kath... (show quote)

Why do some of you refuse to post links? Its very annoying.

So now there's a "Christian nationalist movement". It was only a matter of time until some i***t came up with that tag.

The author got a lot wrong. And a lot of Christians don't feel this way about Trump. Not even close.

You see everything through rainbow shades, so what the hell would you know about "the current state of our country"?

2016 was a watershed in our nation's history, by the time the e******n rolled around, the democrats, progressives, and RINOs had this country so fkd up it was unrecognizable. Critical mass had been reached, we were entering core meltdown. Had Hillary Clinton won the e******n, we'd be a mushroom cloud by now.

The time had come to shut the reactor down. The damage is so great that we needed a bad ass fighting machine, not another cog in the crushing gear, not another putz politician.

"If you are not part of the solution, you are part of the problem". There is no doubt which one you are.

When you give a source like the NY Times, it is easy to find. I don't think you are that challenged.

I shouldn't have to is my point. If you're going to post a topic people shouldn't have to search for the article so they can find related links.

No I don't. You completely missed the point. Plus it is appropriate and a courtesy to include a link from any copyrighted material. You're not the only one that does this.

There's a lot of plagiarism and borderline plagiarism in this forum.
