Chronological History does not lie, but the Roman Catholic church does.

The Catholic Church teaches that it is the One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic church founded by Jesus Christ, that its bishops are the successors of Christ's apostles, and that the Pope is the successor to Saint Peter to whom primacy was conferred by Jesus Christ.

Further, it teaches that it has not changed since its inception.

This is a lie.

Since the 2st century, during the 1,987, the Roman Catholic Church claims to have existed, it has changed and/or added to dozens of the Biblical Commands Jesus Christ established for His church.

"On this occasion, as on previous occasions, Rome has changed her tactics when old methods became ineffective, but she has never changed her nature.

In any religious organization, doctrine is the most basic and important part of its structure, since what people believe determines what they do. An official document, `The Constitution on the Church' prepared by the Council and approved by the Pope, reaffirms basic Catholic doctrine precisely as it stood before the Council met.The doctrine of papal infallibility is restated. We are told that when `by a definitive act he proclaims a doctrine of faith and morals...his definitions, of themselves, and not by the consent of the Church, are justly called, irreformable (Article 25). The pope has lost none of his powers. He remains the absolute ruler in the Roman Church. But if papal decrees past and present are `irreformable, `what hope is there for real reform in the Church of Rome?

Although many of these beliefs were practiced centuries earlier than the dates given, they did not become binding on all Catholics until they were officially adopted by church councils and proclaimed by the Pope as dogmas of faith, therefore some dates are approximate.

1. Presbyter (or elders) were first called priests by Lucian...2nd century.

38. In his encyclical Redemptoris Mater, Pope John Paul II "referred to Mary as 'Mediatrix' three times, and as 'Advocate' twice..."1987
39. During an audience Pope John-Paul II referred to the role of Mary during the crucifixion of Jesus: "Mary … co-operated during the event itself and in the role of mother; thus her co-operation embraces the whole of Christ’s saving work. She alone was associated in this way with the redemptive sacrifice that merited the salvation of all mankind. In union with Christ and in submission to him, she collaborated in obtaining the grace of salvation for all humanity...In God’s plan, Mary is the ‘woman’ (cf. John 2:4; John 19:26), the New Eve, united to the New Adam in restoring humanity to its original dignity. Her cooperation with her Son continues for all time in the universal motherhood which she enjoys in the order of grace. Trusting in this maternal cooperation, let us turn to Mary, imploring her help in all our needs"...1997

"The document on the Church repeats in substance the teaching of the Council of Trent that `priests and bishops are the representatives of God on earth...justly, therefore, they are called not only angels, but gods, holding as they do the place of authority of God on earth.' (Catechism of Trent).

"In fact, no more sweeping claims were made by the Council of Trent (1545-1563), nor by the First Vatican Council (1870), than are made in these documents from Vatican II. Despite all the claims to the contrary, the Council has firmly maintained the doctrine of the primacy of Peter (3) and of papal succession. In his book, Ecclesiam Suam, Pope Paul expressed his distress because of what some of the `separated brethren' (4) say about the pope as the stumbling block in the way of church unity. He said, `Do not some of them say that if it were not for the primacy of the pope, the reunion of the separated churches with Catholic Church would be easy? We beg the separated brethren to consider the inconsistency of this position, not only in that, without the pope, the Catholic Church would no longer be Catholic, but also because without the supreme decisive pastoral office of Peter, the unity of the Church of Christ would utterly collapse.

"We must say that at this point we agree with the Pope, at least to this extent, that if the Roman Catholic Church were reformed according to scripture, it would have to be abandoned. But the gross errors concerning salvation still remain. Moreover, the Council did nothing toward removing the more than 100 anathemas or curses pronounced by the Council of Trent on the Protestant churches and beliefs. If there is to be any true unity, surely this would seem the logical place to start."

Conclusion

We could not find a more fitting conclusion than Dr. Boettner's:

"The `Constitution on the Church' makes it abundantly clear that Rome has no intention of revising any of her basic doctrine, but only of updating her methods and techniques for more efficient administration and to present a more attractive appearance. This is designed to make it easier for the Eastern Orthodox, Anglican, and Protestant churches to return to her fold. There is no indication that she has any intentions of entering into genuine give-and-take church unity negotiations. Her purpose is not union, but ABSORPTION. Church union with Rome is strictly a one-way street. The age-old danger that Protestantism has faced from the Roman Church has not diminished; in fact, it may well have increased. For through this less-offensive posture and this superficial ecumenicism, Rome is much better situated to carry out her program of eliminating opposition and moving into a position of world dominance.

An infallible church simply cannot repent."

This here caught my eye Zemirah and I now see why Radiance3 and Doc110 and probably padremike as well refuse to believe the scriptures if they have received their lessons from either a priest or a bishop.

Therefor if the priest or bishop says that Peter is the first pope that has to be believed as well as the fact that Christ was crucified on Friday and rose on Sunday. Christmas is Christs birthday according to Radiance as well. All of these lies are the result of the priests and bishops as well as the pope. They all are in agreement with Mary worship and praying to the saints. Praying for the dead in purgatory as well. this all makes one want to scream to these individuals but I can see where they are hoodwinked in their beliefs.

Hi Bahmer,

It all goes back to their refusal to actually read the Bible for themselves.

If they leave this world without ever doing so, trusting the instructions from their "holy mother church" instead of the Word of God which He provided all mankind, it is indeed tragic, but their eternal destiny is on them...

though God will also charge those wicked leaders of that monstrous Roman Catholic church which has taught a false gospel all these centuries for those millions of souls lost.

Other than scream a warning, and wave a red flag by making the truth available, we can only pray that they wake up. They have free will to choose.

The immaculate conception of Mary was that she was sinless by virtue of her son Jesus is the correct interpretation of that? Wasn't she supposed to be sinless as well or was that the immaculate conception theory?

She was born sinless according to the Catholic church. How crazy is that? Not only is in not supported in scripture by any stretch of the imagination, they just made it up less than 200 years ago. How could anyone follow a Church that so brazenly makes things up?

Hi Rose,

According to Roman Catholicism, in his infinite wisdom, Pope Pius IX took it upon himself to determine 1,800 + plus years after the blessed event occurred, that Mary's duly wedded parents had not sinned when they copulated, resulting in Mary's Mother becoming pregnant with her.

That is what I always understood it to mean, although I saw no way it would be sin; however, according to Wikipedia, the Catholic Church teaches that God acted upon Mary in the first moment of her conception keeping her "immaculate," i.e., free of original sin.

I find that completely ridiculous!

How immaculate did she need to be? - and why?

She was a normal, healthy young maid, greatly blessed to have been chosen by God to be the physical mother to Jesus, who was Spirit, being God, who came down from heaven to take on human form, and to become the Savior to the world, meaning all who freely chose to believe and accept His freely offered Salvation.

If it happened, and if it were important to know, God's Word would have recorded it, when written.

Mary is never described as an exception to the Bible’s statement that “all have sinned” (Romans 3:23). Mary needed a Savior just like everyone else, except Jesus. (Luke 1:47).

I find it ridiculous too and can't believe I used to accept that! NOWHERE in the Bible does it elevate Mary to such a status. She needed a Savior just like everyone else. If she had been sinless she'd never have said this - "My soul magnifies the Lord, and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior," Luke 1:46

The Catholic doctrine on Mary is Satanic. There's no doubt about it.

This was a point I attempted to make to Radiance3.

Did Jesus leave an incomplete church?

Did God forget to include such important doctrine of salvation out of the Bible?

Does that mean Christians/Catholics for the first thousand years were not saved, not knowing about the Eucharist, baptism, confession to a priest, good works., purgatory, praying to Mary, beads and many of the requirements for salvation? Opps God forgot about these things he required until a thousand years after Jesus?

Of coarse her reply "your Sola scripture is not authorized"

To me the Catholic church confirms why The Bible is infallible, final.

Hi Jack,

It also fulfills the prophecy that false leaders, ravenous wolves would soon arise, from inside the church's own ranks, with the goal of making merchandise of the church's members.

Matthew 7:15 "Beware of false prophets. They come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves.

Ravenous passions…. Their tyranny of unrealized ambitions, the pursuit of unholy desires…. Jesus saw all this while He was on the earth, and accordingly, spiritually, He forearmed His disciples: Matthew 10:16. "Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves."

Jesus, Paul and Jude made it quite clear that the enemy of the gospel would come mainly via false teachers and wolves in sheep's clothing hidden among confessing believers. The main enemy of God and His work on the cross is the religious leaders that are hindering the clear gospel message of salvation by grace through faith in Jesus.

It is the way in which Roman Catholicism seeks after people to make one not a Christian, but a Christ - Eating Catholic that separates them from Christianity. It is absolutely what they teach about God and Christ and Mary that differs radically from the Bible that matters.

Instead of allowing you to come to Christ and become part of any Bible teaching body of Christ you choose, which puts you in the Church (universal), they insist you become a member of their Roman Catholic Church, with its seven sacraments, of which Jesus had never heard, and most assuredly would have condemned.

A prophecy that sadly we see coming true is 2nd Timothy 3:1-5, in which Paul lists 19 end-time attitudes that will lead to stress or perilous times for all. Verse 5 clearly warns all to turn away from people displaying such characteristics. Such behavior leads to corruption of the members and an attack against the truth.

A church which has abandoned Scripture, to ceaselessly create their own Catechism of rules and regulations, duly recorded in the Catholic Encyclopedia, is not the true Church of Jesus Christ, nor is it a Christian Church, for rather than Christ, under the manufactured title of Pope, a mere man rules as its head.

It is God's "Scripture alone," i.e., His Holy Word, that is 1) "authorized," that is 2) "legitimate," that is 3) "historical," that is 4) "accurate," and finally, that is 5) "verifiable," and it alone which can be traced back for 2,000 years to Jesus Christ and to His Apostles.

Thanks Bahmer,

You may often be a man of few words, but when you do choose to expound on a subject, it is obvious that your knowledge of the Bible, and your familiarity with it is second to none.

Your reliable presence and reassurance is a blessing to every Christian who attempts to speak God's truth on this forum.
