Why is it that people always say that everything comes down to money? This is the world's most abused excuse for not doing things. Quite honestly, it gets old! People do not underachieve or overachieve because of money. What stops people from accomplishing their goals is they give up without putting much effort out to achieve what they want. They sit down and whine that if only they were rich they would/could do more. The simple fact is, you could give millions of dollars to people and they would still not do anything worthwhile. Statistically speaking, people that become rich overnight, by winning a lottery or a sudden inheritance, are broke within 5 years and they accomplish nothing with that money. They buy and buy, often on credit and in the end they wind up right back where they started; broke.
Another issue is, people want things that are perfect! Many would never consider adopting an older child or one with a disability. But, did you know that the state will reimburse someone who adopts one of these children? And, if you were not aware, adoption fees have actually gone down over the past 10 years. Adoption now is more dependent on the home study and the physical/emotional status of the adopting parents than how much money a person has in the bank. There are many agencies that work toward placing children into loving homes. There are lawyers that will take pro bono cases; all a person has to do is ask questions, follow advice, and follow through. For a better understanding of adoption, see

As a genuine liberal, I feel that all of us should be committed to the betterment of the least blessed members of our society. Bo, do you really think the cost of condoms, birth control pills are too expensive for those who are too lazy to buy or use them? You really think a******n should be a birth control rather than a medical need? I think Einstein said it right "the difference between genius and stupid is -- genius has its limits".
