You are correct it is desire for more and more wealth that leads to many people doing harm to others. But when we covet our neighbors property, stealing it from him through the government isn't that just as bad as if you had taken it from him directly.

As for freedom it is a right of all men not something that can be of lesser or greater degrees.

And the state doesn't grant rights the people grant rights to the state not the other way around.

All people have a reasonable right:
"Right to Life, Liberty & The Pursuit of Happiness"

We hold these t***h to be self evident.

No the people are the state & as such rights are granted to others & these rights have obligations. One of which is to see that the rights of all to have "The Right to Life, Liberty & The Pursuit of Happiness."

We the People In Order To Form A More Perfect Union Chose to Etc Etc.

Rights granted to others that have a better way to do things carries with it the Obligation to hold up the Principles this country was founded on.

It don't take the brightest of person to see that those with special rights are not holding up to their Obligations.

If you keep saying live by the Constitution this is the first thing one needs to live up to.

A fundamental difference of opinion exists, here. In Great Britain and Europe, Asia, and Africa, what you say about the state owning is true. That doesn't mean the people everything in those places, only that the government in those places claims to own everything. This is not true in the USA. The fourth, fifth and tenth amendments to our constitution indicate the concept, held in this country, of "private property."

Private property is owned by an individual, not everybody or the state. C*******m teaches that property is owned by everyone. Are you a c*******t?

The land always belongs to the State. Just rights to the use of the land is granted. The rights to use the land comes with Obligations. When one fails to meet those Obligations the state has the right to revoke the rights.

What is the first or most important Obligation? It is to preserve "The rights of all people to Life, Liberty & the Pursuit of Happiness."

That was what this Country was founded on & these are the rights that must always be there for us.

But it is plain to me that many in this country feel that the course or path leading to the few using their Rights with out Obligations is the path they choose.

United We Stand Divided We Fall. It is all to clear that many have chosen to fall.

The support given to the few & denying many their basic rights is the problem we face.

Yeah, I can see you are all about denying life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness to whomever you deem "greedy."

I think you need to look back at things that lead to the founding of this Nation. Just what are those that have so much really lacking. What is so good in your eyes that they should have even more.

Just how much in how few hands would be the right balance in your eyes?

There is no freedom without property rights. That includes not only physical property but owning the patent you have for the product you produce, owning the rights to the book, music or art work you produce and owning your time to do what you want with it. As more and more people believe that everyone owns everything, the easier it is to allow the government to own everything, INCLUDING YOU. C*******m is a form of s***ery or at least serfdom.

I am more concerned about people who have greed for power than people who have greed for material wealth, although both go hand in hand in many cases. Of course if you have money you have the responsibility to use it wisely, by your own definition of wisely, not the governments

I don't see a solution to greed. But I see that greed for power draws people to governments. Your greedy people and Floyd Brown's greedy people are entirely different sets of people.

Floyd's greedy people don't want the government telling them what to do.

No Propaganda's greedy are the people from the government telling others what to do.

I think those two positions diametrically opposed, but that's probably just me.

We have lots of answers, but what are the questions.

Or at least what are the questions we should be asking.

For me I guess the question is: Just what am I looking for.

Well with all that is going on in the country & world today I need to see what changes in my outlook need changing to best adapt to for my own personal well being.

I have always felt that I could get by with not being greedy.
In the world to day greed dominates.

I can get by with being less greedy than most but in the world of greed I find it harder to get by with out becoming greedier than I am.

So I am here on this forum seeking the path that most want to take.

So I ask is more greed the only way to go?

If not what is to be done with those that show the greatest greedi?

It has been said that religion is more the invention of the greedy than the godly, for the wealthy need humble servants to quietly do their bidding and stay in their place. And all of Civilization does seem structured around power and money, the haves and have nots both pawns manipulated by these v***l templates of desire that capture heart and soul. Few have the eyes to see this. The cure appears worse than the disease of those desires when first presented and not worth the risk, better the devil one knows than challenging the unknown.

I guess Francis of Assisi nailed it: "Preach the gospel everyday and when necessary use words." It would seem only by a spirit of action, being a living example, is the message.

Yes, they are diametrically opposed. However, I think we have a solution for those who want the power to dictate our lives, with our having no say in the matter. V**e them out of office. Floyd sounds as if he wants a government that owns all and tells us all what do say, think and do. I prefer having control of my own life, and the ability to decide what I want to do with my time and money. I do not believe that makes me greedy.
By the way, I am a semi retired therapist who works with young teenage boys who have been molested. My goal in that is best said by one of the boys when he was talking about the man who molested him "He put a hole in my soul and all the happiness leaked out" My goal is to help him repair the hole as best as possible. since I am officially retired, I never charge for my services. I also work training therapy dogs to help in that work, which is time consuming but so satisfying. I am, however, a greedy conservative, so I guess by liberal standards, I will be going to hell ultimately. That is, if any of them believe in God.

It can be argued successfully that property rights are a major symptom and a natural agent of greed. Civilization did not have to move in this direction and who knows how successful true community ownership, a real government of "we the people," if it had been tried. But seeing how greed consumes so many, even in ways unbeknownst to a person and appearing quite the opposite, genuine community likely never had or will ever have a chance.

The early Christian Church practiced a form of true c*******m finding itself mostly disenfranchised from Rome and desperately dependent on each other for survival. This changed once accepted by the Empire in 312 and quickly went to a worldly enterprise.

So just how do we slow down what is taking place with more money in few hands & more power to those that use that money to get more money & power?

Is this something that you wish to see becoming more common?

Just where are we going to end up if this continues?

It seems to me with the way you look at it is that you want to continue towards that end.

No I don't think that just because you are conservative that you are greedy. You sure don' show greed in the your interest in helping others.

I stated that the world belongs to the people. This means as a whole the people rule. To make things operate in the best interest of all Rights such as Property Rights are granted to some. With these rights come obligations to look out for the better interest of all.

Now tell me if this isn't the basis that this country was founded on you tell us all that this country was founded on fraud & that what is going on to day is just the way it was intended.

I think we all see that some people have more to give in the interest of making things better. I think that we all see that people who give or create more should have more.

But when those that have more get more & use that power that comes from in it to take from the people the Right to Life, Liberty & The Pursuit of Happiness it needs to be limited.
