My comprehension of "stuff" is far greater than yours, as is my command of English. I did not "attempt" to respond, you dolt, I responded.
You are a joke and not a very funny one.

You'll have to find someone else to give it to you, I am busy tonight.

Humor, like beauty, is in the eye of the beholder. How unfortunate your room temperature IQ precludes your appreciation of either.

Extrapolation is the taking of a known quantity or quality and extending it to a logical conclusion. My use of the word in the previous post is correct.
Your last sentence should read "but I have seen no sign of either in your posts."
The above two examples should provide an illustration of my point. Oh, my point?
HERE'S YOUR SIGN.
Your definition of extrapolation is almost accurate... You included "logical" as part of your definition... I used Merrian-Webster's Online Dictionary:
EXTRAPOLATE
1
: to infer (values of a variable in an unobserved interval) from values within an already observed interval
2
a: to project, extend, or expand (known data or experience) into an area not known or experienced so as to arrive at a usually conjectural knowledge of the unknown area <extrapolates present trends to construct an image of the future>
b: to predict by projecting past experience or known data <extrapolate public sentiment on one issue from known public
So... Extrapolation "infers", "projects", "extends", "expands' to a conclusion... Or it "predicts"... BUT NOWHERE DOES THE CONCLUSION NECESSARILY HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH "LOGIC"...
Without your conclusion necessarily being "logical", your use of the word can be looked at as merely an inference & not taken as "correct"...

Merriam-Webster's Online Dictionary is not the only dictionary available.. It isn't even the best one. Your attempt at nitpicking is specious and vapid.

First time I remember that word actually being used and referred to outside of a vocabulary book was, surprisingly, in the service. There was an exercise where we had to observe movement in the bush and "extrapolate" what direction and the greatest visible and direct threat to our position. This was in AIT. I was one of the hidden on cue "bush-waggers" meant to throw off this estimation, radically shaking my greenery to indicate, if one properly extrapolated, that the enemy would not be this grossly careless and something else must be the cause. Pretty sophisticated for the Army, I thought.

Loki,
You have a new word and you are a good boy. Specious and vapid? Also remarkable.

New, perhaps, for you. I have another for you, Fido: Pavlovian, as in your response to stimuli. I will arrange for your new chew toy.

Loki,
Are the one with the picture of yourself giving everyone the finger? I am amazed that anyone would want to be revealed as a mindless, extremely crude fool on a site open to the public. Anything for any kind of attention, I guess. I feel you pain.
Do you guys want to take this outside? I would like my thread to stay on point and not be highjacked for mudslinging and personal vendettas, but if you feel this is a safe place to air animosity, have at it.

Let me add that I like you both very much and feel, given a chance, you guys would find common ground and be friends.

I don't recall being the one who began the slinging. However, you are correct; it is your thread. 'Scuse me.
