Loki is the father of Fenris. Did I mention Fenris doesn't like progressives, either?

The t***h is the t***h. Why is that horrific? I have yet to hear one single workable gun control proposal. By workable, I mean structured in such a way that it cannot be twisted and perverted from it's original intent.

Give everybody a gun that is step one. Step two give everybody ammunition. Step three everybody start shooting those left standing win. Most of the leftest don't know what to do with a gun and those that do will be woefully outgunned. Problem solved.

LOL...if your object is to repulse....consider it accomplished. YUCK! If you put ALL that energy into actual political dissent....instead of just writing on a page....ya might accomplish somethin'..........
Try it....you might like it.....after all, there's nothing like a good protest march.........
And, for "progressives"....I cling to neither or any party....only want what's best for the US of A.....and give my allegiance to this NATION.....not some bought and paid for political party with NO interest in the country and its people..........except how they can be used to expand the 1% of the 1%'s profits exponentially.

Your child does have a striking resemblance to his father, did you raise him all by yourself or did you have help? I would love to turn him loose on the progressive side of the isle. If we did that, we maybe could make believers out of some of them.

I suppose it can happen here and many probably believe it already has, with the hysteria I see about the NWO. But it is interesting to note that the greatest k**ler on this planet is the mosquito. Averaging over 2 million deaths a year for the last 50 years, it is estimated than in its entire history over a billion people have died at the hands of this little creature. Taken in context, 290 million by governments is tame. We have more to fear from a tiny bug.

If you do not want to read the following information that is factual, let me summarize: the Hitler confiscation of guns is a BIG LIE, A TOTAL MISREPRESENTATION OF THE T***H.
The t***h about Germany and guns, from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gun_politics_in_Germany:
"The treaty of Versailles of 1919 had stipulations to disarm the government. Fearing inability to hold the state together during the depression, the German government adopted a sweeping series of gun confiscation legislation against the citizens prior to completely disarming the German military. Article 169 of the Treaty of Versailles explicitly targeted the state: "Within two months from the coming into force of the present Treaty, German arms, munitions, and war material, including anti-aircraft material, existing in Germany in excess of the quantities allowed, must be surrendered to the Governments of the Principal Allied and Associated Powers to be destroyed or rendered useless."[1]

"In 1919, the German government passed the Regulations on Weapons Ownership, which declared that "all firearms, as well as all kinds of firearms ammunition, are to be surrendered immediately."[2] Under the regulations, anyone found in possession of a firearm or ammunition was subject to five years' imprisonment and a fine of 100,000 marks."

Under Hitler:
"The 1938 German Weapons Act, the precursor of the current weapons law, superseded the 1928 law. As under the 1928 law, citizens were required to have a permit to carry a firearm and a separate permit to acquire a firearm. Furthermore, the law restricted ownership of firearms to "...persons whose trustworthiness is not in question and who can show a need for a (gun) permit." But under the new law:

Gun restriction laws applied only to handguns, not to long guns or ammunition. The 1938 revisions completely deregulated the acquisition and t***sfer of rifles and shotguns, as was the possession of ammunition."[3]
The legal age at which guns could be purchased was lowered from 20 to 18.[4]
Permits were valid for three years, rather than one year.[4]
The groups of people who were exempt from the acquisition permit requirement expanded. Holders of annual hunting permits, government workers, and NSDAP members were no longer subject to gun ownership restrictions. Prior to the 1938 law, only officials of the central government, the states, and employees of the German Reichsbahn Railways were exempted.[3]
Jews were prohibited from possessing any dangerous weapons, including firearms. They were also forbidden from the manufacturing or dealing of firearms and ammunition.[3]"

Cut and paste from Salon:
Unfortunately for LaPierre et al., the notion that Hitler confiscated everyone’s guns is mostly bogus. And the ancillary claim that Jews could have stopped the Holocaust with more guns doesn’t make any sense at all if you think about it for more than a minute.

University of Chicago law professor Bernard Harcourt explored this myth in depth in a 2004 article published in the Fordham Law Review. As it turns out, the Weimar Republic, the German government that immediately preceded Hitler’s, actually had tougher gun laws than the N**i regime. After its defeat in World War I, and agreeing to the harsh surrender terms laid out in the Treaty of Versailles, the German legislature in 1919 passed a law that effectively banned all private firearm possession, leading the government to confiscate guns already in circulation. In 1928, the Reichstag relaxed the regulation a bit, but put in place a strict registration regime that required citizens to acquire separate permits to own guns, sell them or carry them.

The 1938 law signed by Hitler that LaPierre mentions in his book basically does the opposite of what he says it did. “The 1938 revisions completely deregulated the acquisition and t***sfer of rifles and shotguns, as well as ammunition,” Harcourt wrote. Meanwhile, many more categories of people, including N**i party members, were exempted from gun ownership regulations altogether, while the legal age of purchase was lowered from 20 to 18, and permit lengths were extended from one year to three years.

Your research is admirable. I will drop Germany from the long list of once oppressive governments.

When I enlisted, my oath was to protect and defend the Constitution, not the "country" or the "people." Without the Constitution, the US is merely dirt with some people and buildings cluttering up the place. I consider my military service an acceptable alternative to a "protest march." The people I take such pleasure in annoying have made up their minds, and reason does not work. Their idea of unbiased conversation is one in which there are no dissenters from their opinions.

Annoy whom you like. Matters not to me. And, Loki, when I speak of this country, I consider it ALL....the land, the people, the Constitution......the whole ball game....which matters to me far more than any party. And...when and where did you serve.....and for how long? Service effects everyone differently. My husband went to Nam the epitome of a war machine....and came back a long haired, Harley riding peacenik. He cut a swath across the Ivy League Catholic campus....the button down shirt types...where he got his Masters in psychology. People change. So do countries.....and I want MINE back! That is probably one thing on which you and I agree.

When I took the same oath it was the same. The military has structured
the oath keeping in play the individual rights of our citizenry guaranteed by the Constitution. Nothing more nothing less. Anyway that's the way I see it. This sounds like a misunderstanding and boy does that happen on this media a lot!!

Sounds like you'd be the one to carry into church and shoot who ever because you have the mind set to shoot first and ask questions later.

maelstrom....what DO they say about those with big fingers? I know about the big feet.....

What I have found in life is that the bigger the braggart, the louder and meaner the bully, the worst that the worst can become......they're ALL scared little boys thinking bravado and noise and threats will frighten away that of which they fear. OH! How mean they are! How horrible they can be! It's just like a guard dog.....the one that barks and makes a lot of noise.....generally has some inner controls or a human with that control. But.....the one who simply stands his ground and never makes a sound. That's the one requiring caution.

And, after dealing with Vets 30 years, I found those that said the least......had done the most......and been in the heaviest and worst of situations. Those who did nothing nearly always talk about it. Those who DID.....never say a word........except sometimes, so quietly, among their most trusted peers.....their "band of brothers".....from whom they never part. Wives of returning Vets have difficulty understanding the change....because, generally, life with a returned combat Vet will never be the same.

And, portraying oneself as an cartoon hero? I'll take the quiet Vet any day.....HE doesn't have to "become" anyone else......He doesn't have to "be" something else....HE JUST IS.........and, for that I have endless respect.

Now, about that "finger".....LOL
