Not Jewish, but I do know that Christian tradition for the most part considers a developing fetus a child and that Scripture interprets Scripture. Anything in Scripture needs to be evaluated by what the rest of Scripture says. The Bible also has God saying "In your mother's womb I formed you", and there are other verses that state God's involvement with us begins before we are born. It's enough for me to take a second look at the morality of a******n. At times I believe a******n may be necessary, but at best it's a tragedy and it certainly isn't a "victory" for women or society.
I'd also point out that there is plenty of legal precedent in the US as to the personhood of an unborn child - the Peterson and Gosnell cases to name a couple of the most recent. There are plenty more.
In any event, the last I heard, pregnancy in and of itself isn't a disease or any other life threatening condition. Therefore, I don't think society should have to pay for something that at best is a morally dubious elective procedure. If a woman's life is in danger that's another story.
Not Jewish, but I do know that Christian tradition... (

Until such time as there is undeniable, irrefutable proof that life does NOT begin at conception, taking a chance is immoral, and when you consider exactly what occurs during an a******n, the butchering and dismemberment of that baby, the only way to describe it is savage and barbaric
