Why are people on this forum so critical?

This thread is about remembering John McCain. His sacrifices and his accomplishments. I liked John McCain, even though I didn't agree with him.
Biden, Obama, hell even Bill and Hillary liked him, in addition to the Bushes. See John McCain did something that no one else did in this generation, John worked with Americans. Not Lefties or Righties, but Americans. For that I respect and honor him.

As far as Donald Trump vs. John McCain, you have to realize, I like Donald Trump too.
Donald has done things that John McCain couldn't do. Like exposing the snakes in Washington. He's breaking the establishment's monopoly.
Are We, Americans, so blinded by competition and so vengeful against one another, that we lose focus of what true freedom and the true fight for freedom is?
Have any of you been overseas where a true honest to God, dictator ruled? Did you witness Saddam Hussein's brutality? When we freed the Iraqi people, in Desert Storm and Iraqi freedom, the people took back their country. But with Osama Bin Laden, and Al Qaeda, with ISIS destroying with the same brute force, the American freedom, in the manner of Hussein the American lives that were lost, were lost in vain.

Now that is true dictatorship. Whereas Trump is no dictator. And t***h be told, all Trump wants is to take care of America, and help the country. He is succeeding on two fronts. The economy and security. Make no mistake, just like Trump has ghosts in his closet, so does John McCain. Yet, if McCain were still alive, he would finally come to terms with Trump and may understand that Trump and McCain fight for the same cause but in very different ways. I don't think John fully understood this.

At John's request, Trump was not to go to his funeral. John didn't want Trump to acknowledge anything about him. He was that upset with the president. That is perfectly fine. However, for the press to go after Trump, for Trump respecting John's wishes is called "dirty politics" and is very unfair to John McCain and Donald Trump.

Yet the left keeps it up, with their speeches and relentless attacks on Trump. Also some of you think that's perfectly fine. But when the shoe is on the other foot, I have witnessed, that they complain, b***h, and moan about Trump and how "ruthless and vulgar" he is. Put yourself in Trumps shoes, how would you react, or overreact if it was you they had a likeness of with the severed head? On the same token, put yourself in Cindy McCain's shoes. Where her husband addresses America, and directs them with working with each other, not against them.

As far as Obamacare, John h**ed that referendum, mandate and anything that went with it. I believe he was at a loss of how to stop it. He blatantly said to me that Obama, "didn't only trample over our rights, but he down right galloped over them."

But like an establishment guy, John did nothing about it. Nor could he find support for that cause. He too was suffering with a sickness that took his life. And for the time being it was wiser to leave the law alone then to repeal it.

Did you not read John's statement at the beginning of this thread?
Why don't people search for solutions, rather then find the need to crucify their fellow American?

Now John has made some mistakes, so has anyone who's involved in the Federal and State governments. Sometimes those mistakes comes back to haunt us. But that does not change the fact that both Trump and McCain were fighting for the right. A cause bigger than ourselves. But many people turn a deaf ear.

I guess Thomas Jefferson was correct when he wrote "......and accordingly all experience hath shown that mankind are more disposed to suffer, while evils are sufferable, than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed."

John wrote "We weaken our greatness when we confuse our patriotism with tribal rivalries that have sown resentment and hatred and violence in all the corners of the globe. We weaken it when we hide behind walls, rather than tear them down, when we doubt the power of our ideals, rather than trust them to be the great force for change they have always been.

We are three-hundred-and-twenty-five million opinionated, vociferous individuals. We argue and compete and sometimes even vilify each other in our raucous public debates. But we have always had so much more in common with each other than in disagreement. If only we remember that and give each other the benefit of the presumption that we all love our country we will get through these challenging times. We will come through them stronger than before. We always do."

Yet in the heat of battle we forget the farewell of John McCain: "Do not despair of our present difficulties but believe always in the promise and greatness of America, because nothing is inevitable here. Americans never quit. We never surrender. We never hide from history. We make history."

Donald Trump is exposing the evil in Washington, just like Jimmy Stewart did in "Mr. Smith goes to Washington. Senator McCain was like Senator Payne. Here's a quote from that movie,

" I know how you feel, Jeff. Thirty years ago - I had those ideals, too. I was *you*. I had to make the decision you were asked to make today. And I c*********d - yes! So that all these years I could stay in that Senate - and serve the people in a thousand honest ways! You've got to face facts, Jeff. I've served our state well, haven't I? We have the lowest unemployment and the highest federal grants. But, well, I've had to compromise, had to play ball. You can't count on people v****g, half the time they don't v**e, anyway. That's how states and empires have been built since time began. Don't you understand? Well, Jeff, you can take my word for it, that's how things are. Now I've told you all this because - well, I've grown very fond of you - about like a son - in fact, and I don't want to see you get hurt. Now, when that deficiency bill comes up in the Senate tomorrow, you stay away from it. Don't say a word. Great powers are behind it, and they'll destroy you before you can even get started. For your own sake, Jeff, and for the sake of my friendship with your father, please, don't say a word."

Well Jefferson Smith opened his mouth, and it seems like Senator McCain was Senator Payne, and Donald Trump is Jefferson Smith.

Mr. Smith Goes to Washington was written in 1939 and starred Jimmy Stewart. Yet the phrases written in that movie, are still true today.

So before you go bashing Senator McCain, or you go bashing Donald Trump, remember Mr. Smith goes to Washington!

For All of America, and for My friend John McCain, which the Lord took into heaven, and in the same style of 'Praying for America--Through the Psalm of David' I present John's Last words and farewell:

“My fellow Americans, whom I have gratefully served for sixty years, and especially my fellow Arizonans,

Thank you for the privilege of serving you and for the rewarding life that service in uniform and in public office has allowed me to lead. I have tried to serve our country honorably. I have made mistakes, but I hope my love for America will be weighed favorably against them.

I have often observed that I am the luckiest person on earth. I feel that way even now as I prepare for the end of my life. I have loved my life, all of it. I have had experiences, adventures and friendships enough for ten satisfying lives, and I am so thankful. Like most people, I have regrets. But I would not trade a day of my life, in good or bad times, for the best day of anyone else’s.

I owe that satisfaction to the love of my family. No man ever had a more loving wife or children he was prouder of than I am of mine. And I owe it to America. To be connected to America’s causes — liberty, equal justice, respect for the dignity of all people — brings happiness more sublime than life’s fleeting pleasures. Our identities and sense of worth are not circumscribed but enlarged by serving good causes bigger than ourselves.

‘Fellow Americans’ — that association has meant more to me than any other. I lived and died a proud American. We are citizens of the world’s greatest republic, a nation of ideals, not blood and soil. We are blessed and are a blessing to humanity when we uphold and advance those ideals at home and in the world. We have helped liberate more people from tyranny and poverty than ever before in history. We have acquired great wealth and power in the process.

We weaken our greatness when we confuse our patriotism with tribal rivalries that have sown resentment and hatred and violence in all the corners of the globe.

We always do.

Ten years ago, I had the privilege to concede defeat in the e******n for president. I want to end my farewell to you with the heartfelt faith in Americans that I felt so powerfully that evening.

I feel it powerfully still.

Do not despair of our present difficulties but believe always in the promise and greatness of America, because nothing is inevitable here. Americans never quit. We never surrender. We never hide from history. We make history.

Farewell, fellow Americans. God bless you, and God bless America.”
---Senator John McCain, he was 81.

Our Father, who Art in heaven
Hallowed be Thy Name.
Thy kingdom come, Thy Will be done,
On Earth as it is in Heaven,
Give us this day, Our Daily Bread,
And forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us
And lead us not into temptation
but deliver us from evil
Amen!

In my opinion, John McCain was an old-school hero.
He was the Son, Husband, and Father, we all wanted to have.
He endured some of the worst of times and some of the best of times.
But he was always, American.
It is funny, that the word 'American' in today's day and age means such an awful word.
However, John never thought it was. John fought to make America, respectful and Great. He has accomplished that.

I remember writing to John about Obamacare and the individual mandate, where I said that Obama trampled over our rights.
John replied to me by affirming that he "not only trampled on our rights, but galloped right over them." This showed John's ever strong American will, to listen to us Arizonans.
I will never forget his letter and how his words helped me understand the otherside.

He did it again in the above statement. We are all, Americans. No matter what side you are on liberal or conservative, Democrat or Republican, we share the same feelings and anger as our opponents on the other side of the aisle. We share the same freedoms and responsibilities. We owe it to our children to do a great job as Senator McCain. He is a true American Hero.

At times, I will admit, I did not agree with John. In fact, I would say to myself, "What is he doing?" But I understand that John stood for the right. Not "right of the aisle" but for all that is good and right in this life. He fought for the right, even when it was unpopular to do so. I will miss you, Senator John McCain. And I for one will stand on the same foundation that you have made for us. Thank you for your service, when you served in uniform. And thank you for being my senator. But now...........

as I wrote on Twitter, May the perpetual Light, shine upon you. May you Rest in Peace. May your soul and the souls of all the faithfully departed Rest in Peace. Go now, and Rest High on that Mountain of the Lord, for Son, your work on Earth is through. May Jesus, welcome you into Heaven

In the Name of the Father,
And of the Son,
And of the Holy Spirit.
Amen!

Ranger,
I suggest you watch this short video of what Vietnam veterans, POW's, and other politicians had to say about John McCain and his efforts to obscure the t***h about America's POW's. https://youtu.be/4hr37eE0nO8

Is this really someone you want to call a friend and patriot?
