The rationale for not including food and energy in the CPI is that their prices fluctuate too much. The CPI is intended to measure longer-term trends than that, and the effects of the fluctuating prices of food and energy get reflected in other sectors that are included. I don't know if I agree with that, but there it is.

Wrong, wrong, WRONG!!!! How about putting that computer to work and do some REAL research, rather than watch porn. Bush ran up a little over $5 trillion in eight years, Obama has run up over $7 trillion in just five years, and is estimated to run up another $3 trillion before leaving office. The Treasury has brought in record amounts of tax dollars for 18 months now, and Obungler is still running a $800 billion annual deficit (higher than any single year of the Bush 2 years). Clinton NEVER got the deficit even close to zero, although he did not run up as much as Bush 2 did. Before making yourself sound like a fool, get your facts straight.
