To me being young and poor is a shame, being old and poor is a crime. For some it is bad luck and or bad health that destroys their economic life. Those are the ones I do not object to my tax money going to. However, there are plenty of folks whose troubles are due to their own lack of planning, saving, or working. Even then I do not object to giving them a helping hand, but not for the rest of their lives.

It is easy to condemn the younger generation for being spendthrifts, but I have found that there are all kinds in each generation. Half the guys I worked with in my 20s made good money and still never had a pot to piss in. Their kids grew up to become them. Then there were always a few that you knew would be rich some day and retire early. Of course even they were always one bad marriage away from disaster.

I fill my time with many low cost activities.
So many public events had few fees.
Now every where you turn takes ever increasing costs.

I got to play cards with family members at a vary early age.
I say letting children be a part of adult activities at an early age can lead to better adapted children.
From that you get better adults.

All Shiites are our enemies according to our Talking Heads on network TV, but according to the MSM, it was Saudi Sunnis attacking us on 911. Not Shiites

I would say your home work spent on what was out there & what you should have paid attention to was less that it should have been.

I say the person wanted to get as much as he could out of you.

An average person with a few mechanical sk**ls could build just what is needed.
We have had simple windmills around for a long time.

I few hours on the internet & you could find out more about wind turbines that will do with dependability & at a cost that you can afford.

I think that if you look at where all the money ends up you would have to say it is not really being done for the person on the street.
