Our confederate Slatten is about to go flitting off on another adventure. This time he is off camping. The following may be helpful for him.

Steps to Build A Campfire:

1. Split dead limb into fragments and shave one fragment into slivers.
2. Bandage left thumb.
3. Chop other fragments into smaller fragments.
4. Bandage left foot.
5. Make a structure of slivers (including those embedded in the hand).
6. Light match.
7. Light match
8. Repeat, "I'm a Happy Camper" and light match.
9. Apply match slivers, add wood fragments, and blow gently into base of flames.
10. Apply burn ointment to nose.
11. When fire is burning, collect more wood.
12. When fire is burning well, add all remaining firewood.
13. After thunderstorm has passed, repeat the above steps.

Please print and take these helpful instructions Slatten. 😻😮💭

Our confederate Slatten is about to go flitting of... (show quote)

I will find it much easier to turn on the stove in our RV, and flip the light switch.

I will let the younger brothers and nephew deal with the campfire...while supervising! I will be the Senior Slatten at this event, and I will wield my authority.

P.S. Tequila will suffice for medicinal purposes, thank you!

Aha...It is not a true camping trip except for the poor youngsters. I guess with your upcoming turn to old age you need as many comforts as possible in the great outdoors. It is wonderful your relatives understand your weaknesses. 😆

Yeah, the two brothers joining me are 61 & 62, while I turn 65 this Tuesday. My nephew is 34. I guess they are humoring me by letting the 'old guy' come along.

They are the ones bringing the RV, not me.

I am there to help them 'rough it' through the experience.

They would probably "rough it" without the RV; however, being considerate of your advancing age decided to bring it. 😆😨

Wilderness sk**ls are still required;

fill propane bottle BEFORE leaving on trip,
open valve on bottle,
open valve on burner,
light immediately,
drop lighter before lighting burner,
being " self lit on booze", take 15 minutes looking for lighter,
strike lighter,
blow up camper,
spend 6 weeks in burn unit,
repeat next spring.

As slatten is taking Tequila for "medicinal" purposes some of the instructions could be a possibility. Hopefully the younger set will keep him safe. 😮😬

The only 'advancing' will be my advance upon Caprock Canyon State Park for our rendezvous.

Once there, I will offer my guidance and wisdom.

It should take but a second.

The real problem for me will be to keep my tequila 'safe' from the 'kids'.

Did we just have a hit and run visitor?

Does it not seem odd our non drinker would provide instruction on such a matter?👿 :?:

Do to his vast wealth of knowledge, I will heed his advice.

I've never crossed the Alps on an elephant, but I read of Hannibal doing such. I'm sure our friend, Mr. Loki, speaks from acquired knowledge without partaking of the demon rum.

At least his concerns are for me...and my tequila! :-D

Yes, but he lacks your 'woman's touch', AuntiE.

(Do I score points with that comment?)
