Kevyn, I agree with you. This sight is for exchanges of ideas, not for propaganda. I have been blocked from making my opinion known on several occasions. If I were obscene, or personally insulting, I could see it, but not for disagreeing with another poster. If somebody puts his idea out there, others should be free to respond, or whats the point?

Saltwind, I personally find you reasonable (even personable) and not at all abrasive or offensive in manner or style. Unfortunately, though, this forum is as much a base for spreading h**e and propaganda as it is for an exchanging of ideas. Your thoughts, as well as many other's, are often met by assaults of vitriolic comments from those who disagree. It is rare for reasoned debate or civil discourse to surface between posters of dissenting viewpoints.

Having said that, I refuse to put anyone on an 'ignore list', and question why anyone would. I think that one could ignore another poster just as effectively the old-fashioned way.

Of course first. You claimed I blocked you first, when that was untrue.
I can see why some one would want to block you., but that is a liberal's defense mechanism.

I would invite everyone here to join me in contactng the administrator and request that they remove the ability to block posts.

I'm with you

No body is forcing them if they don't like what is posted just skip it

That's right .I started to block a bloc head that blocked me but thought" Why should I stoop to that low level" took it off. I am a believer in free speech no matter how much I might not like it

Do not think it was called leaning right.. but it popped up and few days later someone put together a site for the left..

The Ignore simply stops others from posting on a thread that you start.. If you post on another thread, they can reply to you answer on some elses post..

Well that's weird. So so. Someone can in effect decide no one should look at a particular thread? That sometime else has posted? I've never no I ed any other site except this one so maybe I just don't get the rules but that sounds like random censorship and is kinda dumb... Thanks for explaining I appreciate it.

I found out, on another site that has this same formula, (Knitting Paradise) that when you ignore someone, then, as permafrost says, they cannot post on a topic that you create. One small advantage to that is that when you create your topic, you can be assured that the person you ignored will not infiltrate your thread and take it off topic. Some trolls like to do that, so you can keep them out of your topic this way. Also, people who use vitriolic, h**e-filled, crude language will not be able to comment on your topic, either, if you ignore them...

Oh, ok. I understood it differently. Still probably won't ignore anyone . Thanks for clarifying.

To be honest, there is no one on my ignore list. However, I am on quite a few ignore lists of others and I do not care. This is not new, jelun, moldyoldy, and KHH1 had admin create a safe room called Leaning Left. A place where they could exclude, change and delete, or block those they did not want to allow a voice. Indeed a second safe room was requested by Glaucon where he alone could delete or block individuals..... No one complained. So, why complain now? Both of those sections have been up for years~!!!! But, some now think that a presumably Conservative has blocked Kevyn and now it becomes anti-American and troll's tool?

Let's face facts here Penn... I'm not a safe room kinda guy... … my main issue is propaganda troll's who constantly post up garbage from raciest sites spreading pure dirt & h**e allowing no rebuttal like neo N**is ... they are here to hard sell their vile crap seeking the weak minded to follow... they are cowards with an agenda...

No, my writing was bad... the ignore button only affects your own thread, will not stop a reply to your post on some one elses thread..
