Sounds great ! Looks like you'll be the only one in line..

The Veterans healthcare is quite popular.....I know several veterans....they won't be in line with you..
https://www.marketwatch.com/story/its-hard-to-top-veterans-health-care-2010-06-02

Your article dates back to 2010 and even it is wrong ..

I donate time at the VA, not near enough, but I could tell you of many “war stories” from our Vets sitting around for hours to see the Dr. scheduled no less.. Even without their stories just processing paper work for them and seeing the dates on requests for wheel chairs lets say.. Months Angi, months... Same with appointments months until the follow up can be booked.....
I speak with Drs there that simply have had enough and looking at the red tape involved and budget cuts etc they are not only ready to walk, they are walking away..
I’ll take what I personally see and know what goes down.. Funding always the issue many budget increases and yet it never seems to get out of DC to the VA hospitals..

Vets have died waiting on care.. Google it and see for yourself.. The administrative changes never work because until recently they were not responsible for their actions... Now they are and yet they can’t fire because they can’t get quality people in to replace them....

Lol...I know what year the article is from....I posted it.

Can the VA improve? Of course...so could Medicare, Medicaid, Privatized healthcare...etc

I remember reading articles of how the VA was not prepared for the wars in the Middle East...thousands coming home injured, both mentally and physically...thanks GWB !

Bottom line for me is that there should be Medicare for all....Universal healthcare....like every modern society in the world....to say that there is not even an argument for that, is ridiculous.....and I honestly think we will see it in the not so distant future...
Just like people never thought gays would legally be able to marry or that marajuana will be legalized...it happens...despite conservatives fighting it and holding things back, like they always do....progress happens....young people believe in universal healthcare.....the old conservatives die off....and we move on

Didn't say Medicare sucked. You took that from my too broad of a statement. I do know many of my clients aren't happy with Medicare. Once again having something you like does not mean the program is affordable

Ya don't say....so, why aren't people demanding to get rid of Medicare ???......I mean, it obviously sucks, according to you

The VA has to improve, no place to go but up and I hope with the changing of the guard yet again it will...??

I don’t disagree with you on the others needing overhaul although I find Medicare more adept to enhancing the programs...
Candidly Angi I believe we are headed towards a single payer program instituted by your state in the guidelines that will be government controlled... Medicaid also handled as a single payer program subsidized by income earned.. If no income then the government covers them anyway...

Universal Healthcare ??? I don’t know enough about other countries but can say my brother lived in Switzerland for 15 years and paid taxes that equated to about 38% of his income.. Had insurance, free, Drs. Actually came to your home if bed ridden and even prescriptions were covered.. Just go to the pharmacy and pick them up.... Vision and dental included..
He liked all that but said to get proper disgnostics (mri’ ct scans etc)you went to Italy if you wanted a second opinion .. If you treat outside the state only 50% of bills paid...He said care was given as needed but they monitored what you did and what you picked up RX wise too..He shared a big push by the government to quit smoking buy disallowing treatment for anything related to smoking issues..If you continued to smoke no help...

I will default to J, whom, given his business has to stay up on what is going on...

As for Medicaid, get rid of the fraud by hospitals, Drs. And those defrauding the system but keep the ones that truly need it.. With the fraud of the Bureaucrats involved its just another funding they exaggerate so they can skim off of it .. Along with the others I just addressed.

There is less waste in Govt run healthcare than private run healthcare.....there shouldn't be profit in treating someone with cancer, in my opinion.
I would rather the Government control it over some corporation that only cares about its profit and stock price....that's just the nature of the beast....
As for the VA, it's definitely not " rock Bottom " as you suggest....polling is mixed ...from happy to unhappy...I think they are just completely overwhelmed..

Quit being purposefully obtuse. I’m not on Medicare so included to broadly. I’m talking costs not quality of care. But the expense in our healthcare system has a lot to do with government. You want more. I want less.

I'm not being purposefully obtuse...I think you are being purposefully evasive.....when I stated that our healthcare system was secondary to other Countries, you suggested that I move.....you then posted that you think the healthcare system sucks...for wh**ever reason...I simply suggested that you should follow your own advice.....if you don't like to go down that road...then I suggest that you don't ....I just followed along

Physicians for a national health program. That opinion might be a bit skewed.

True...on that particular article....but do you disagree with these statistics stated :
In other words you get more " bang for your buck " with Govt run healthcare than your U do in private run healthcare....these same stats are all over the Internet....please look for yourself
