Most of us believe in a supreme being.
Well man-kind has been waiting for God to fulfill man kinds destine.
We if you believe in the part of the Garden of Eden.
Then perhaps you will recall that Gods rule for Adam & Eve was broken.
Then they were evicted.
Being put out on their own.
So we are on our on own to fix the world.
We are what can be said is a fitting punishment for the sins of man-kind by Adam & Eve.
The 3 major religions have a very common base.
Man-kind has allowed the small differences to divide us in a perpetual battle.
The answer is not from with in each religion it is with in the commonality of us all.

Just a few friendly thoughts...
We were not put here to fix the world, but to worship our God.
God old testament plan was to worship him, and rely on him. It is man's rejection of God and man's "sin" nature (greed, lust, covetousness, selfish, rejection of God ) that cause wars, fighting among themselves.
Our world has a history since the tower of babble, wondering in the wilderness "golden calf" on hundreds of ungodly worship, cults and occults, idol worship, false God's.
Judaism and Christianity are the same with the difference of Messianic, where Islam worships pagan God's, moon God's, embedded with h**e. Only two of the three major religions have a common base.
There is much revisionist false history written, Christians and Jewish faught together "defensive" while Islam "offensive" to eradicate the Jewish and Christian peoples. The Catholic divided off including idol worship and through corruption, power, greed, k**led Christians and for a period of time anyone against the Church, it also includes pagan and cultic practices.
The church age from the time of Jesus has been salvation not of good works, no works of any kind, but by grace, saved through faith.
Since sin entered the world, sin separated man from God. Old testament a sacrifice, the blood covering sins, new testament Jesus was once and for all the final sacrifice for all man's sins, his blood covering all sins to all who believe in him "grace/faith".
Conclusion,
Our purpose, why am I here? To honor and worship our creator God.
