The last and only lead smelter that melts Lead ore in USA was shut down by Obumers EPA over regulation nation to the tune of 75 million dollars worth of fines so they closed their doors, So when we go to war with China do you think they will sell us lead to fight them !!!!!!!! this smelter was third biggest one in the world !!!!!!!!!!

That's a shame about our system. We have EPA laws that ignore ways to mediate economic solutions to save dying industries being made extinct such as this smelter to comply with the laws. At the same time, the EPA has no serious laws to prevent 80% of the land fill hazards that come from discarding things like old lead carrying TVs and old computer CRTs.
If there was a good idea for stimulus spending, it could've been an EPA incentive to pay business or new start-ups to gather them from consumers and recycle them rather than issue rules and recommendations that end up being a façade mainly to demonstrate compliance but having low overall impact.

Haven't you learned anything over the past 50 years? LEAD IS POISONOUS!!! I'm sure if the company went along with attempting clean air, they would not have had to shut down.

I might be a little less skeptical of there motivation if they weren't allowing oil producers to light up the skies brighter than Chicago from space up in the Bakken by flaring off the natural gas resources that took millions of years to create.
