Flat Tax - pick a number, as long as it is for everyone. From the people who make $1.50 and hour, to the corps who make $1 billion or more a year. Everyone should have some skin in the game. Eliminate all loopholes, period.

I could live with flat tax, but I think a sales tax is preferable because then the tax payer can affect the amount he has to pay. Expensive things will bring in MORE tax; ergo the people buying more expensive things will pay more, whereas the poor, the almost poor, and the middle class will pay very little in comparison. You don't want to pay taxes on a $2,000,000 boat, don't buy it. Simple. You don't want to pay taxes on a $50 pr of shoes, buy a $20 pair.

But I see a major problem with either sales tax OR flat tax. Any time the politicians decide to raise it, they will, and eventually they will take everything we hope to ever have.

So sad but that seems to be their goal in life doesn't it. If we could get the term limits and nothing after they leave office it would be a step in the right direction.
