FTA
The federal government can make a decision that would save taxpayers millions of dollars, and it wouldn’t have to cut programs, furlough workers, or even reduce duplicative spending: All it has to do is adopt a new uniform typeface to be used in all government documents.

That’s right—saving $136 million is as easy as switching from Times New Roman to Garamond. The proposal was made by Suvir Mirchandani, a clever 14 year-old from Pittsburg who realized that “ink is two times more expensive than French perfume by volume.” Suvir’s idea began as a science project that sought to reduce operating expenses within his Pennsylvania middle school.

We have plenty of thinkers in this country, unfortunately, they are not in the government. Government does not change for the better, it alwasys changes for the worst.

The Grace Commission Report[3] was presented to Congress in January 1984. The report claimed that if its recommendations were followed, $424 billion could be saved in three years, rising to $1.9 trillion per year by the year 2000. It estimated that the national debt, without these reforms, would rise to $13 trillion by the year 2000, while with the reforms they projected it would rise to only $2.5 trillion.[4] Congress ignored the commission's report. The debt reached $5.8 trillion in the year 2000.[5][6] The national debt reached 13 trillion after the subprime mortgage-collateralized debt obligation crisis in 2008.

The report said that one-third of all income taxes are consumed by waste and inefficiency in the federal government, and another one-third escapes collection owing to the underground economy. “With two thirds of everyone’s personal income taxes wasted or not collected, 100 percent of what is collected is absorbed solely by interest on the federal debt and by federal government contributions to t***sfer payments. In other words, all individual income tax revenues are gone before one nickel is spent on the services [that] taxpayers expect from their government."[4]

And still people think that a government run health program is a good idea. Who can figure.

An astounding piece of information that I was unaware of until you posted it. I thank you ever so much for it. It is time we hold these thieves to some accountability. Frankly, I'd like to send them all out to hunt for new jobs and get away from my life and my property!!

None of the above mentioned ideas will ever be implemented for the following reason.

1. It's to simple. It doesn't increase the governments power over the people.

2. It's to pure. No one in Congress can make any money through implementation.

3. It makes sense. The powers that be cannot understand the concept of cutting spending, while maintaining productivity.

Here is an idea. We close the loop holds for the wealthy and corporations. We tax them in the same way you and I are taxed. That would bring in billions.

Go after off shore accounts. Corporations are not people and the law which gave them these rights was a typo . Tax the rich for a change. I am tired of paying for these leaches.

Flat Tax - pick a number, as long as it is for everyone. From the people who make $1.50 and hour, to the corps who make $1 billion or more a year. Everyone should have some skin in the game. Eliminate all loopholes, period.
