Do you not do real research? Welfare is only 11% of the budget, which means that 89% of our money is going somewhere else. Entitlements ARE in need of reform, but they are NOT causing our debt problems. Blaming social security, medicare and welfare for our money problems is the REAL h**x.
Socialism and C*******m are a lot worse than h**xes, there are more than 100 million dead, k**led by these failed ideologies, and countless people who suffered miseries Americans can't even imagine, maybe that's why so many are stupid enough to believe the propaganda being fed to them by Obama and the Democrats.

You must misread the story.
I read it and came away with a different view.
It's plain and simple. Every political ideology that supports collectivism over the liberty and rights of each and every individual citizen is a h**x. Socialism and C*******m have proven to be total failures. Social Liberalism, as the Democrats practice and push in this country today, is well on its way to proving the same t***h. Entitlements, created to buy v**es for the entrenched political class, have all but bankrupted the country.
Socialism and C*******m in all their various forms are unworkable because they go against basic human values of individual freedom and rights; because they seize wealth from productive people and create dependency on government in those who are already unproductive. Under such a system, only those who hold political power, the politicians, bureaucrats and other apparatchiks of the power structure, enjoy true freedom. The rest of us must toe the mark.
All politicians who break faith with the American people are dangerous and should be distrusted. At every e******n cycle, they should be rooted out and their policies scrapped. People who steal and c***t are supposed to go to prison, not to the US Congress and Senate. Those who even attempt to steal our freedom and rights should suffer the same fate. We the people may not be able to imprison them, but we can see to it that they never again have the opportunity to tamper with our freedom and rights. We must listen carefully to what all politicians say and to the promises they make, because if we are not careful we may buy their lies and throw away our precious freedom.

It is difficult to know what you're saying. Every politician suffers from avarice and vice. Liberals claim to want to help everybody - but help themselves first. Conservatives want everybody to help themselves - while they help themselves to all your stuff. Show me an honest politician and I'll show you someone who's been dead too long for anyone to remember.
What is an entitlement? I'm not going to look it up so I'll put what I think it is. Something you don't pay for but think you should receive. I hear these republicans referring to Social Security as an entitlement. You can't get it if you don't pay in, that's it. If I'm wrong please inform me I won't be offended but I will check it out. Another thing , I hear from my conservative buddies that without greed as a motivating factor many if not all the advances in the history of the United States those advances would not have happened. Things like medical and communication which have enriched our lives . I tend to agree. Capitalism drives this stuff. Only one problem though. The people that I know that make this claim and others I don't know who make this claim also claim to be religious. If you are truly religious wouldn't you be compelled to do good for your fellow man without the hope of getting rich? The people I know also have magically become religious as soon as they think that helps with the republican agenda. They disrespect the president which is something the bible tells you not to do . Choose one way or the other but don't pull this socialism is terrible crap at the same time your saying Jesus this and Jesus that.

Social Security is an income provided by the government for retired citizens. Most people think they've earned it, but what makes it an entitlement is that it is granted by the government.
I don't get it with the entitlement thing. I had a social security deduction taken out of my check for more than 30 years. Is someone granting me something I paid for? That doesn't compute. It's not an entitlement.
China seems to be doing OK.
One of the consequences of the notion known as "Entitlements" is that people who have contributed nothing to Socierty feel that society owes them something apparently just for being nice enough to grace us with their presence........!

Entitlements are just that .."something that you do not pay for"
These are cash payments and government credit cards for the same things you buy and purchase with your hard earned money after paying taxes to furnish "Entitlements" to those who are either unwilling to assume responsibility for their own and their family's well being or cannot, will not or are truly unable to furnish their family with "Entitlements" at the expense of those taxed to provide same.
This explanation makes more sense. In a civilized society these entitlements which I am assuming would be things like welfare or medical assistance seem to be necessary if we want to truly be civilized. I've seen this entitlement designation greatly misused in the last couple of years to imply our president is giving handouts at the working persons expense. However when these misusers include things like social security as an entitlement I tend to doubt any other thing they say. There will always be some who take advantage of the system but that is better than no system at all.
