How many will end up saying " If they knew about it why didn't they do some thing about it before it was to late."

Probably all of them. I understand the " if I don't look, it's not really there " syndrome, we learned it as kids to cope with our fears. As adults we are supposed to FACE our fears, not resort to childhood coping mechanisms.

I expect, soon, that our politicians will be forced to deal with c*****e c****e, not because they've grown wiser or that the people demand it, but because their corporate sponsors will demand it, and we KNOW they do as they're told to by them. The delay is because there are too many colloquial/back woods sponsors, who have lots of money, no sense and probably can't read. You know, folks who hire people to dress them and explain the difference between sparkling wine and mountain dew.

The international tychoons, those with real educations, have come to realize the dangers of c*****e c****e and are including remedial strategies INTO their corporate plans. There are 1000's of American rich who cannot see their own noses, and are consistently removing them to spite their faces. Why? because they're rich and have been told that being rich is all you need, because they think they can buy their way out of anything, or INTO anything, especially politics. Their " betters" will put them in their places before long, because the uber rich get it and they're not going to let some hick " merely" rich doofuses screw them up.

Indeed. Whoever "they" is right? Probably even spin it somehow that it is the governments or liberals fault.

  Trouble is, by then it may be too late, or at best cost 100 times more that it would have. And that being the case guess who will get stuck with the bill. Hint: won't be the rich folk.

I know there will be immediate responses of "it's a lie", but that's ok. Hopefully there will be enough adults brave enough to face facts. We have no more powerful or insidious enemy anywhere, than we do with our own planet.

Let's cry and scream about a******n, while our living children starve to death. Whine about the government being too big, while our homes are being destroyed. B***h about foreign policy, while our domestic policy leaves us all destitute. Know why even rich people are paying attention to c*****e c****e now? Because they know that there's no where to go to get away from it and all their money will go away. Now that's scary.

I recall the 70's but I don't recall that, unless you are referring to "nuclear winter", which is a different thing. CO2 is only part of the problem, but that is growing exponentially, due to clearing of rain forests. Plants turn CO2 into oxygen, thus sequestering CO2 and replacing used up O2. Less plant, more CO2, less O2 leads to smothering. Not overnight, you understand, but even if tens of 1000's of trees were replaced today, it would take 20 years for them to start the process effectively. I can't hold my breath that long.

Thank you for posting this subject in non-political manner and for this reply to c*****e c****e 'denial' with one of the 'scientific' situation details that all of us can understand and relate to. In absence of reminder of deforestation reality and CO2 situation, it is understandable that people would question all the hullabaloo about climate effects. There has been a general lack of specifics regarding the 'science' of human civilization effects. Moreover, there have been few specifics about what can be done to remedy situations. Few specifics of relative parts our human activities play in overall huge global atmosphere situation either in causing or being able to remedy theoretical situation. Both the alarm and the doubts are understandable and should be regarded as somewhat outside 'politics.'

It is a matter of 'hide under the bed' or 'something'...just that we don't know for sure what 'somethings' are involved.

What a strange thing to say to someone who is not a liberal. Is that really the ONLY thing you can come up with to try and disprove something you have no knowledge of? Oh, sorry, of course it is, since you DON"T have any knowledge, of this issue, or any other for that matter.
