One thing to keep in mind is that this forum is not like a lot of others where people come and go constantly and are therefore more apt to sling all kinds of mud because they know they won't be held accountable for it because of their anonymity. This is not the case with OPP, which is more like a community with a lot of the same people posting and responding to one another regularly. I've recently realized that rather than get into regular pissing contests with the same people it's better just to avoid them if you know they're going to push your buttons. At the end of the day it's just not worth it to give yourself that kind of grief.

I totally agree. Often I've found myself taking some of these posts way to seriously! And I find myself in a bad mood and no one in my world knows why!! I've backed off and mostly just read the post, unless I feel that I need to respond.

How could it be a separate issue, when it is referenced by you as reason for this thread?

I guess that's my, as you imply, "closed minded reading" of your comments.

I suppose you read your comments with such an open mind your brain fell out.

A different topic can emerge from a thread, such as how the topic was addressed, not the what of the topic. What I referenced as a reason for this thread was clearly stated: how to deal with people we perceive of as being "off the wall." Not a particular person or thread but in general. If you wish to rehash that other thread, by all means feel free: I only ask that you quote me in context, not relate what you think I said.

I can see how you assumed my comment about reading the exchanges from the other thread with an open mind meant that you had not. This may or not be true in your case but I was not thinking of you or what you said but sharing my belief about those exchanges. I could be wrong, there is always sufficient room for that. Yet that is my opinion.

My Dear Rumitoid: I have never found you crude, rude of tatued. I think your self assessments are correct. I disagree with you a lot but that doesn't mean that I don't agree with you as well. Do let it bother you. Your ok.

My dear Mr. Huggins. And I must admit I appreciate the hyperbole of "never" though I must demure. Let's make it quite nearly never: I can live with that. I have far more friends here and people that I admire who are "staunch" and other ways conservative. I am treated with respect even when, as you say, we are in disagreement. My experience is some personalities simply cannot get along even though neither is really a bad person or being unreasonable. My younger brother and I generally get along great, love each other's company...but we see differently. I am more a big picture guy and he is point by point logical. It has happened more than a few times that only after a long and heated debate we end up realizing we were making the same point. Go figure.

If they, the pin pricks, should return, who do I contact, you or Angie?

Lol, not me but Angie; we're good. But I think she may claim confidentiality. However, I know a psychic medium in California that may help if such a frightful thing "mysteriously" occurs again, for a price, of course. She reads shredded articles from the Huffington Post for her fortunes. Could work.

What an incredibly decent thing to say. I truly am moved. Thank you. I enjoy a good argument, I must admit, and with people like you it is a "good" argument, no matter how much we disagree.

This cannot be a doppelganger connection; I had not planned, I mean, um, er, eh, seen that in my vision. Must be a groovy vibrational thing. Yeah, yeah, that's the ticket.

Considering the distances between the three of us, that is some "vibe rational thing" you have going there.
