The problem is not enough is done to verify the truly needy people.. We enable them!!

Ask the local community, the schools, churches, local doctors, and even the local fast food restaurants, they have their contacts locally and many people can help. the local library , If they have summer reading for kids will have an idea where needy families live and how they can be helped. Town government helps, the state government has little idea who needs help, and the federal government has No idea, they do not even know which end of a dog eats let along what people need what help. Lots of local areas have word of mouth action committees and the word spreads and food arrives on a doorstep, or a couple of out of work men come to help repair a damaged roof, they have the time, and will be happy to help, no charge, except maybe for dinner. Cities have more of a problem as the personal connections are seldom there.

What you speak of is as it should be and often is when in rural areas but not so much in cities... Its no time, can’t get involved, or don’t don’t want to get involved..

In a catastrophe I always swell with p***e because then we all do get involved, want to help as we don’t ever want to be in that situation ourself.. While catastrophies are horrific the will of the people rises above and beyond to the occasion!! Something shines through and renews our compassion of humanity for all.. Race, creed, color does not matter..We are just people helping people...
Renews my belief in people and in humanity as well..,

Maybe after all of the democrat states welfare rolls go broke and they can no longer afford them then the people will v**e in those that establish a work requirement to get the money. It's biblical even. 2 Thessalonians 3:10
2 Thessalonians 3:10 (ASV) For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, If any will not work, neither let him eat.

My daughter and her husband were checking out of a Walmart store where they had a grocery store in there as well. The couple ahead of them was having a birthday party evidently and they had hot dogs, hamburger, buns, steaks, cake, and all of the decorations etc. After the bill was wrung up they paid for it with their WIC cards and then went out and loaded all of the food and cake and everything into the back of a Cadillac Escalade. Meanwhile my daughter and her husband paid for their food with their debit card and loaded their food into their Toyota Corolla and then they wonder why we get POD at them.

If they had to work forty hours a week for their welfare check they would likely run to another state that doesn't require them to work at all or very little. If this was done country wide then they would get the idea. If they work at a real job and earned a fair wage it would be better for them and their families. The work rule is something that nudges them in the right direction. Once they start to move in the proper direction then they will start to regain their self worth. If it was done country wide it would be a help but the liberals would yell bloody murder.

You are is right about them running but that would cause most of them to run to California and with all the tax payers leaving there soon they would be completely overrun by welfare people. No businesses, outside movie making, I wonder where their welfare money would come from.

In the early 60s my uncle who was a welder for the LA school district talked about needing two welders to do the job of one because someone had to guard the tools from the welfare kids. He really made me laugh when he talked about the one day a month all the daddies had to come home to be counted for welfare checks.
