some of us don't want jewelry, wear little makeup (an honest smile beats lipstick any day) but want a man who will do some housework, can cope on his own when needed and remembers to keep all dog water dishes full and put dogs out often enough. Such simple things mean a LOT.

I agree, but CoosBay said he was shipping makeup and jewelry by the pound, so I assumed that's the way he wanted to ride the horse. We haven't heard from Mrs. CoosBay yet so I assume good 'ol' Tom is not dumb enough to let her see his posts.
At one point in my married life we had run into a hard patch and it was necessary for me to work two jobs. I was working fourteen to fifteen hours a day six to seven days a week and dumping the responsibility of raising three small kids completely onto my wife. Every so often, about once a week, I would stop at a flower vendor and pick up bouquets of flowers, in appreciation of her support. She loved them. A neighbor's wife was visiting when I came in with flowers, one day, and she was consumed with curiosity as to what I had done wrong to warrant bringing flowers when it wasn't a birthday or holiday. My wife and I looked at each other and smiled, poor woman equated a simple expression of thanks with some necessary atonement. We didn't tell her that she obviously wasn't being treated as a loved one deserved.
