When I first relocated to Texas I met an elderly auto mechanic who almost immediately began talking about how Obama waned to take his guns. I tried to explain that Obama purely wanted restrictions and was not interested in collecting this man's guns. (This was before all the automatic firearms were as popular.) No amount of talk would convince him otherwise.

May I ask what is wrong with having to register one's guns. You have to register your cars, don't you? 45 made sure he got rid of any restrictions President Obama recommended purely on the basis that Obama was FOR them. These teenagers stated that they are not against the 2nd Amendment but you didn't hear that did you?

I must say that you sound like an 8-year-old having a tantrum - just like your leader, 45. Grow up!

Speaking of growing up, why don't you give it a try? I suggest you go read the history of dictatorships who had no problem murdering their citizens. You will find gun registration was first, then confiscation. Can't rule with an iron fist if the populace is well armed.

Alicia, Please engage your brain prior to opening your mouth. 1. An AR15 is NOT an assault rifle 2. A loaded AR15 or, in fact, any weapon can remain completely harmless until picked up by a fool meant to do harm. The same holds true for a knife, hammer, golf club, table lamp or a knitting needle. In order to obtain a permit to purchase a firearm in the state of N.J. in the 70's I had needed the approval of the local police, state police and the FBI. All the talk you hear from your friends about buying guns online or at gun shows without due process is BS. Further, nobody walks into a local gun store, pawn shop, gun show etc and walks out with a true 'assault rifle' as a very expensive Federal Permit is required. There now, feel better? BTW, a ball point pen or #2 pencil can be an assault weapon also.

You are wasting your breath and time FDR, she may listen, but she will never understand. Sad fact, but true.

One simple thought experiment that they will not subject themselves to. Just ask them 'you are going to be horrifically murdered in 10 seconds, what are you going to do?'.

They won't answer. They can't answer, because then they're admitting that the evil in this world will not disarm simply because everyone else has. That, my friend, is what drives me absolutely batty every time I hear the phrase 'common-sense gun control'. Where's the sense?

3) I'm 55 years old. Is that 'grown up' enough?

Every time something like that awful shooting happens, we go through the same routine. The news breaks, the cameras are in the air and the whole world tunes in. What a ratings c**p! Then the scripted fallout. The Hegelian Dialectic. "Common sense gun control". I swear, if I hear that phrase one more time I'm going to scream. There is nothing 'common sensical' about violating the law. Oh, yes, you're all 'law-abiding citizens' until it comes to something you don't approve of, then you're first in line to flout that same law. Hypocrites. Here's the bottom line:

I have a gun.
You don't want me to have it.
I won't let you take it.
Your move.

Go ahead, I'll wait.

No one wants your damn gun.... We do want some sensible gun regulation..

Notice the difference??? You keep your gun, kiss it good night, sleep with it..

I have no intention of giving up mine.. do not sleep with it or kiss it, but never will lose it.

One Obama regulation which was not blocked but over turned by the orange pustule was that Mental ill could not own guns..

Seem I could find a fit..

Also, not so much the FBI failed as much as local police who did not do anything with report about the man and also did not enter the building while he was shooting..

I wonder why??

Larry,

do you truly live in that kind of s***hole world?? 10 seconds to save yourself??

Maybe I am at fault. Live in much to nice a place to ever worry about home invasion or assault in the night..

If I did have 10 sec... I guess I would have to kick as hard as I could, miss the mark and hope the responders could do a good job on me..

'Sensible gun regulation'? OK I'll bite. Give me one. I'll bet I can put a thousand holes in it and you won't understand a word. How do I know? Because there's nothing 'sensible' about disarming people who have the natural right to defend themselves, their families and their property. But go ahead, give it your best 'shot'.

Just what kind of s**thole world did those school kids in Parkland see? That's a nice - a very nice - neighborhood. I know, I used to live right next to it. How many seconds do you suppose those kids had to save themselves? Well? How many of them would trade every breath from that day to their last one to be able to go back and stop that before it started? One? Two? All of them? You tell me.

No, I don't live in a s**thole world. I live in the real world, where evil things happen for the most mundane causes. In my real world, it is wise to be able to defend oneself, just like it's wise to keep a fire extinguisher in the kitchen. Not because it 'looks good', but because it just might be needed one day. Does that make my kitchen a s**thole too?
