Jim, it's the baby steps that have gotten this Country into the trouble we're in. We keep giving in to giving the left an inch because they frame it to be benign and after forty or fifty years the monster has devoured us. Nikita warned us of this in 1962. Maybe we need to bang our shoe on the desk and gobble, not nibble, back. Mike

Exactly. It's called baby steps. Outlaw the scary looking AR15 and high capacity clips. And then, another mass shooting with a pump shotgun.
Time to ban all long guns. Right? Then another shooting will happen with a semi-auto pistol and on and on it goes. I personally think the outright gun banners are anti-American lemmings, but at least they have the guts to say that's what they want. Most lib's want this also but are to chicken s**t to admit it, so they take baby steps. Which makes sense if you consider what whiners they are.

10-4 hombre and if that time comes we need to stand side by side and back to back. I don't think our Military will oppose us but the locals, fearful of losing their jobs, might. Again, UNITED WE STAND! Mike

If and When they ban guns and come to collect mine, I'll give 'em to 'em, bullets first. I'm old and have lived a good and complete life, so, I don't care what happens to me.

There's defiantly a snake in the wood pile. Hopefully with what's going on it will be exposed before long. Mike

Doesn’t strike you as odd that no attempt was made to protect these students and that the police showed up after the shooter had left the building? If the goal was only protection, every entrance would be guarded and access strictly controlled. Other countries, and some schools in America, are successfully doing this. We need to stop enabling the fed’s manipulations and help our local governments provide what they should have providing for years.

Hell! Where I live we have armed guards in our Super markets. Go figure. Mike

We protect everything that matters in this country but students. Banks, Politicians, (not sure they should matter), celebrates (know they don't matter), airports, court houses, and even the church I attend. Yet, somehow the only way to protect students is ban guns and blame the NRA.

I for one have no problem with making background checks more stringent. Every time I've bought a weapon it's taken a good half hour for the results of my insanity to come back. I have a 67 year record for not being a problem to society, ( don't ask my Mother, she claims I made her gray before her time and is probably right. RIP.) The problem with our background checks is the same with any data base, it's only as good as the data inputted. That being said, they have 67 years of my information so it shouldn't be a problem for them to figure out if I'm a bad guy or not. The reason is that there are sooo many requests that I'm not sure the system is capable of being effective.

Maybe it's time to "God Forbid" we develop a separate agency that does nothing but register gun buyers. Even with our present system do you see registration? We will be dead and our Grandkids will inherit our guns, unregistered but they won't be able to buy a gun that's not registered. I only hope that the divisions we are going through now are gone by then. This is us fighting back against the 60's c*******t BS. I won't live to see it but I've taught my Grand Daughter to be a free thinker and be able to do 1/2 mb. Mike

It's not the NRA, the gun shops, the gun shows, it's our screwed up Government who can't find their ass for their elbows.

Many of these students are "disenfranchised and vulnerable" because they have zero real life experience on their own, devoid of mommy and daddy's protective shield. The same rationale could be applied to many Liberals. They have never had to fend for themselves and are terrified of the idea that they might have to. Assuming responsibility for their own self-defense is the ultimate terror for them.

You haven't been keeping up. In 2014 there were more than 76,000 stops on gun purchases because of the "reasonable background checks" you seem to think are not in place. Less than one hundred of them were prosecuted and less than 30 convictions obtained. I suppose the BATFE was too busy running guns to Mexican dope cartels at the time to bother. But do continue. I am hugely amused by people who agitate for the passing of laws that have already been passed.
