Exactly. It's called baby steps. Outlaw the scary looking AR15 and high capacity clips. And then, another mass shooting with a pump shotgun.
Time to ban all long guns. Right? Then another shooting will happen with a semi-auto pistol and on and on it goes. I personally think the outright gun banners are anti-American lemmings, but at least they have the guts to say that's what they want. Most lib's want this also but are to chicken s**t to admit it, so they take baby steps. Which makes sense if you consider what whiners they are.

If and When they ban guns and come to collect mine, I'll give 'em to 'em, bullets first. I'm old and have lived a good and complete life, so, I don't care what happens to me.

What are the common denominators?

IMO, 1) the shooter was insane (or “radical” in some way.)

2) local authorities knew about it and in several cases the FBI knew.

How about a rewind to before Ronnie Ray-gun eliminated care for the mentally disabled?

It’s been said that “the best measure of the civility of a society is how well the infirm are cared for”.

How come the libs could care less about the “poor crazies”, but have no problem attacking upstanding citizens? Where are the civil liberties radicals now?

We’ve passed the point where systemic societal change is possible: I.e., the nuclear family, morals and morays, care for the insane, etc. are not in society’s overall power to change in the short term. Therefore, we need to take drastic and rapid measures.

Gather up the guns? Not going to happen. It’s not even legal.

Gather up the “nut jobs”? Yup.... legal....and humane.

Well, how they “got out” is multi-faceted no doubt. For sure: without federal funding, the states phased-out mental health “hospitals”. Now the public schools and the penal systems assimilate the “problems”. The rest are “on the streets”.

If they come to my neck of the woods there will be hell to pay. Lived through two wars. My wife, my precious Angel is in heaven. Got nothing to live for but to protect my family and Country. Alabama hillbillies ain't gonna give up their guns without a fight. Come get em. We're dug in like a tick.

This is Fabian Socialism and is not about gun control, primarily. Everything happening is tightening the grip of the central government.............and, now, the disenfranchised and vulnerable among us, students, are being used for their emotion and energy. Doesn’t strike you as odd that no attempt was made to protect these students and that the police showed up after the shooter had left the building? If the goal was only protection, every entrance would be guarded and access strictly controlled. Other countries, and some schools in America, are successfully doing this. We need to stop enabling the fed’s manipulations and help our local governments provide what they should have providing for years.

We protect everything that matters in this country but students. Banks, Politicians, (not sure they should matter), celebrates (know they don't matter), airports, court houses, and even the church I attend. Yet, somehow the only way to protect students is ban guns and blame the NRA.

You don't understand. Remember Nancy Pelosy said that the bad guys will voluntarily turn in their guns because it's the right thing to do. What you and I don't understand is that the bad guys are not really bad, it was circumstances, but deep inside we are all good, except Conservatives. Comprende?

SCHOOL SHOOTING... WHY ISN'T TEEN DRIVE CAR ACCIDENTS A POLITICAL ISSUE?
CONSIDER:
Between 2013-15 Everytown identified 160 school shootings across 38 states. Nearly 53 percent of the identified shootings took place at K-12 schools, and 47 percent took place on college or university campuses.
In 95 incidents — over half — the perpetrator(s) intentionally injured or k**led at least one other person with a gun. In eight of those incidents, the shooter then shot and k**led him or herself; in 20 separate incidents, the shooter attempted or completed suicide without first attacking someone else. Twelve shootings were purely unintentional in nature, and in 33 other incidents, a gun was discharged but no one was injured.
