without a medical examination… a total violation of medical ethics

In the wake of the mainstream media’s glorious failure to conjure up enough f**e news about President Trump’s alleged ties to Russia to get him impeached, the official narrative has now shifted to claiming that the billionaire businessman is mentally ill, and thus unfit for office. But the American Psychiatric Association (APA) has issued a formal notice warning that “armchair” psychiatrists who comment publicly about the president’s cognitive status without having conducted an official medical examination are in blatant violation of the medical ethics provisions that they pledged to uphold when first getting licensed.
The APA’s announcement points to the ethical principle known as “The Goldwater Rule” in condemning those psychiatrists who have taken it upon themselves to issue f**e diagnoses about the president on cable news appearances, in books, and on social media. The APA says that using psychiatry as a “political tool” in this way represents a gross “misuse of psychiatry and is unacceptable and unethical.”

“The ethical principle, in place since 1973, guides physician members of the APA to refrain from publicly issuing professional medical opinions about individuals that they have not personally evaluated in a professional setting or context,” the announcement explains.

“Doing otherwise undermines the credibility and integrity of the profession and the physician-patient relationship. Although APA’s ethical guidelines can only be enforced against APA members, we urge all psychiatrists, regardless of membership, to abide by this guidance in respect of our patients and our profession.”

Should Trump-hating doctors who issue f**e diagnoses about the president lose their medical licenses?
The announcement was prompted in part by private meetings that reportedly took place between Bandy Lee, an Ivy League psychiatrist from the Yale School of Medicine, and various members of Congress. Since at least December, Lee has been whispering in the ears of our nation’s representatives her opinions on the president’s mental status, which even the left-leaning The Atlantic admitted is more “the stuff of crazed conspiracy theories” than what one would expect so-called “professionals” to be doing in actual reality.

But it’s President Trump we’re talking about here, which means what would have formerly been considered off the rails is now everyday life for the masses of triggered liberals who simply can’t accept that he’s their president – which include what in a past era would have been considered “medical professionals.” But there’s nothing professional about how many of these licensed doctors are engaging in the public debate, hence why the APA has issued a stern rebuttal against this growing wave of highly unprofessional temper tantrum-throwing.

“A proper psychiatric evaluation requires more than a review of television appearances, tweets, and public comments,” the APA further explains, adding that the president will soon be receiving his annual physical examination in which proper standards will be followed in accurately assessing his physical and mental state.

“Psychiatrists are medical doctors; evaluating mental illness is no less thorough than diagnosing diabetes or heart disease. The standards in our profession require review of medical and psychiatric history and records and a complete examination of mental status. Often collateral information from family members or individuals who know the person well is included, with permission from the patient.”

Just in case this latest f**e narrative about the president’s alleged mental illness fails just like the Russian “e******n meddling” propaganda did, there’s always “Trump is a r****t” to fall back on. The f**e news media outlet The Washington Post has already begun spreading unfounded rumors that President Trump recently made unsavory and vulgar comments about Haiti and Africa, which the president has since denied saying.

Bandy Lee's license to practice psychiatry expired 2 years ago. She is practicing without a license. Charges should be brought against her. She says she doesn't need a license. She is the one who is crazy.

Even an ex-psychiatrist can not go around diagnosing people without the possibility of the Psychiatric State Board fining them and ordering them to cease and desist their unethical evaluations and diagnosis/prognosis. Bandy is totally lieing and is extremely sick if she thinks she is still capable of spewing hatred witout a license.

That apparently depends on who you're diagnosing, what the diagnosis is, and who agrees (or not) with your purpose in performing this 'diagnosis from afar'. If you are diagnosing a duly elected President of the United States whose e******n just happens to have derailed the push to 'socialize' America, and your diagnosis is 'unfit to be President', then no, you're good. In fact, there are hundreds of thousands of people in Washington DC who are similarly 'ethically challenged' (we can't say 'unethical', that would imply wrongdoing) and would like to meet you. They'd like to hear more about your diagnosis with a view to using it to subvert the outcome of the e******n and remove said President from office.

If, on the other hand, you are diagnosing a certain Minority Leader (who shall remain nameless), and your diagnosis is of a similar conclusion, then yes, you're in for some deep doo-doo because that's clearly highly unethical, and would most definitely prompt immediate action on the part of the licensing authorities.

Apparently it isn't. Glaucon does it all the time. This is a person who claims to be a licensed psychologist but refuses to disclose his bona fides without some ridiculous bet, and who both diagnoses and solicits business on OPP.

Unfortunately, you have some bad information. http://www.snopes.com/does-psychiatrist-trump-lack-license/. I don't agree with many of snopes investigative decisions, however other sources are available. That being said, and the fact she is diagnosing President Trump without interviewing him smacks of partisanship.

Why hasn't she diagnosed Pelosi and the like for being hypocrites? HYPOCRITE: 1. a person who pretends to have virtues, moral or religious beliefs, principles, etc., that he or she does not actually possess, especially a person whose actions belie stated beliefs. 2. a person who feigns some desirable or publicly approved attitude, especially one whose private life, opinions, or statements belie his or her public statements. In Bandy Lee's assessment of Donald Trump at www.salon.com on May 25, 2017, you could easily remove Trumps name and insert Hillary Clinton or Barry Obama's name. Just as a side bar, Obama's brother produced Obama's real birth certificate from Kenya so legally, he should NEVER have been president.

They tried to do something like that to Barry Goldwater in 1964. There was a survey of mental health providers that supposedly raised questions about his fitness for the office. Funny, but there has been no speculation that I know of about Hillary's psychologic fitness despite her documented outbursts.

Given how removed so many liberals are from reality, I think a good case can be made that liberalism/progressivism is a mental disorder.

I've met one psychologist that really stands out in my memory.
He was dating my ex wife, he had some problems with bats, and identity.
After dining and a few drinks back to their home, tucking in my kids that night,
I looked out the upstairs bedroom window and noticed him pissing on my tire.
Bow wow!
