This is the Prayer from 4/30/16

The day dawned grey and dreary, but it's up to you to light the fire of Christ in your spirit. In His presence, you will find your day will be bright and sunny. Isn't it wonderful how the Lord can ignite joy, in your heart, regardless of what surrounds you? It's all a matter of choice. That choice can be narrow and painful, but hold a 'pot of gold' at the end. We never really know until we dare to try it, dare to trust the Lord.

Just as we have to 'weed and feed' to have an attractive lawn, we have to weed and feed our knowledge of the Lord in order to have a meaningful relationship. If it's worth having it's worth working for. When we give Him our heart and time, He bountifully gives to us His blessings. To rise each morning, climb out of a warm bed, and enjoy your morning repast, those are three blessings for us to start our day.

Look for the springtime beauty of flowers blooming, and birds busy gathering twigs for nesting. A new cycle of life is beginning, embrace it and allow it to move your soul, to appreciate His presence of revival. Like Gene Kelly in 'Dancing in The Rain,' it's your choice, you can rejoice or regret. May the Lord bless you this day with the childlike glee of a happy spirit. In Jesus name we ask. Amen

This goes along with the morning prayer:

The three C's in life,
Choice, Chance, Change
You must make the Choice,
to take the Chance, if you
want anything in life to
Change.

Verse of the Day for Tuesday, October 24, 2017:

But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth. — Acts 1:8

Thoughts on Today's Verse....

God has a plan to reach the world with his grace. We start where we are and reach out to those around us. We then share the story of Jesus with those in our region. Then we reach out and take the gospel all over the world. As we offer ourselves to be used, we also trust that the Holy Spirit's power and presence will go with us.

My Prayer...

Father, use me to reach those around me with your grace. bless our congregation as we share Jesus with those in our area. Father, I also ask that you bless our outreach efforts world-wide. Please use us to fulfill your plan to reach all nations with the message of Jesus, in whose name I pray. Amen.

This is the Prayer from 5/1/16

May Day. Remember when you would fill a small crepe paper basket with candy, leave it at the front door of a neighborhood friend, ring the bell and then run away? Innocent, childhood memories, carefree days of growing up. Happy times, times for family, laughter, and fun. Simpler times long past, but time moves forward, only God can make it stand still. Joshua 10:13 "So the sun stood still, and the moon stopped, till the nation avenged itself on its enemies, as it is written in the Book of Jasher."

In times of war 'Mayday' has a far different meaning, a distress call. Are we so occupied we no longer hear that small, still voice of warning? Are we listening, do we hear the far off trumpets of calamity coming? Will it be like Joshua and his army circling Jericho? Joshua 6:20 "When the trumpets sounded, the army shouted, and at the sound of the trumpet, when the men gave a loud shout, the wall collapsed; so everyone charged straight in, and they took the city." Be as watchmen, be aware.

Opposites, at different times in our life we all experience opposites, but they need not be frightening, not when we have the Word to stand on and believe it. One of my favorite verses is: Joshua 1:9 "Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go." This May Day, we ask You, Lord, to ring our doorbell and be with us. In the name of Jesus, we pray. Amen

Verse of the Day for Thursday, October 26, 2017:

Be very careful, then, how you live — not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil. — Ephesians 5:15-16

Thoughts on Today's Verse....

Even though we are God's holy children, we also need to be aware of what time it is in our world. The evil one still exercises his control over the hearts of many people. God wants us to "redeem the time," making the most of every opportunity we have to touch the lives of others with his grace and to resist the temptation and overcome the opposition of the evil one.

My Prayer...

Give me wisdom, O LORD, to discern the best way to use my time and my influence. Open my eyes to see the temptation the evil one puts in my path. Give me courage to boldly stand for you and sensitivity to know the best way to bless others according to their needs. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.

This is the Prayer from 5/2/16

If you had a plant that would do many things for you, what would you think of it? These are a few things it can do for you:

It can increase the release of stomach acid and bile to aid digestion, especially of fats. By increasing bile production it reduces inflammation to help with gallbladder problems and blockages.
It has been shown to improve liver function by removing toxins and reestablishing hydration and electrolyte balance. It is rich in vitamin C and vitamin A as beta-carotene and increases the liver's production of superoxide dismutase.
It is rich in antioxidants that prevent free-radical damage to cells and DNA, slowing down the aging process in our cells.
It may slow cancer's growth and prevent it from spreading. The leaves are especially rich in the antioxidants and phytonutrients that combat cancer.
It can aid to regulate blood sugar and insulin levels. Most of this is done through its ability to control lipid levels.
It contains essential fatty acids, antioxidants, and phytonutrients that all reduce inflammation throughout the body. This can relieve pain and swelling.
It boosts immune function and fights off microbes and fungi.

WOW! What is it? Why has it not put the pharmaceuticals out of business? We spend money and energy to rid it from our lawns, and we look at it as a weed. It is the lowly dandelion.
Are we the dandelions in God's garden? To be God's dandelions, we should be spreading His Word, and displaying His love. We are greatly blessed that He does not consider us weeds, although it is true there are some briars and thorns among us, and at the right time He will discard them.

Today, let us give thanks to our heavenly Father for the mercy and love He showers upon us, His precious dandelions. In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost. Amen
