Social Security and medicare are NOT entitlements! The people that receive those benefits worked and paid into that system. The employees social security tax in incomes under $113,700 is 6.2% and the medicare tax rate is 1.45% on all income. The employer matches these taxes at the same rates. This totals 15.3% tax. Self employed people like me pay all of the 15.3% taxes.
Politicians have since Reagan and Greenspans fraud stolen (borrowed) the surplus funds and spent them, replacing them with worthless, unmarketable treasury securities to the tune of$2.7 trillion and then tell us the fund is going broke.
Our wonderful federal government spends in excess of $100 billion/year on corporate welfare! So the next time some one talks about cuts in welfare or welfare reform ask them if their talking about corporate welfare to keep failing and mismanaged businesses afloat or the welfare that is helping millions of American people and children to survive.
Corporate welfare, subisies, tax breaks, etc along with corporate personhood needs to be abolished.
