To you, and PLTSergeant - I know that of which you speak. I am a Vietnam veteran, albeit a short tour. I am an only child, my father passed away so I was sent back to the "world" in 1969. My MOS was 13B40, and I was Section Chief on an M109, self-propelled 155mm Howetizer - even tho I was not a Grunt 11B, I saw a lot of pain and dying, more than any 20 year old should ever have to witness.
I say this to ask that you do not delete yourself from OPP - always know there are lots of us veterans here who understand you, don't think you are stupid and enjoy hearing from you.
This is the old SGM saying hang there trooper, you are too good of a man to let some trash here defeat you.

What we are talking about, is NOT broken vaces or china, we're talking about this nations sovereignty. When one party demands supreme rules according to their agenda [ Democrats and rinos in collusion ] our sovereignty becomes in jeopardy. It's evident one party demands to remain in power to fulfill their agenda no matter what it takes. Like the example of the vase, this is what we're experiencing now.

What we are talking about is far more fragile than a vase or china, liberty.

saltwind 78, you sir opened the door for maybe true dialog. Would love to discuss your issues in civil, American to American manner. We can not solve what you and I feel is wrong, if we can't talk without name calling. Be able to respect each others opinion.

PLT Sarge, I don't know of any American that is trying to destroy all that is America. As a liberal, I am trying to call attention to what I sincerely believe are some of the problems that plague this nation. Among them are a small minority that is increasing it's wealth and power at the expense of the working people and middle class, a President that is unfit to hold that office, a r****t minority that is trying to increase hatred and mistrust against minorities, etc.
We may see things differently, but that doesn't mean we are not patriotic Americans, just like you.

Thanks PLT SGT, I don't know you but I love you, please don't go, we need you too and the punks sure need you... I'm Ret AF... so my service wasn't as hazardous to my health as yours, but I served with an interservice t***sfer; MSgt named Jerry Smith... he was one of three survivors of a platoon on one of those hamburger hills in Nam. We both were often guest speakers at what we called PME (professional military education) class. One of the PME instructors asked me if I'd ever heard him speak, said no, he said you should, so I did... have rarely been so blessed... he very quietly and humbly spoke for an hour... I had few things touch me so deeply. So because of him, I think I may understand you maybe more than most on OPP except for the Grunts, Squids and Jarheads. I love my God, country, and family and in that order... but don't let these snowflakes get to you, you know who you are and you know what you have given. Much more than most of us. You have earned the right to blast them when and if you feel like it... but you are a finer and better man than they will ever be. Because you've been through the fire and the hell of war and watched your friends die. May I offer a suggestion that may help? Don't know how mobile you are or what kind of support you have but if possible visit some young wounded warriors like yourself and you will feel better about the younger generation. PM me anytime day or night and I'll give you my number and then we can chit chat whenever the mood hits us. Thanks again my friend.

saltwind 78: You would be much more productive if you spent you're valuable time and energy achieving you're own goals, instead of degrading the wealthy. The so-called wealthy deserve less criticism as their accomplishments and fortunes were usually amassed by their own intelligence and hard work. At some future time, the wealthy may ask, “Give us a break.”

Jealousy is a very time-consuming waste of potential energy.

After a significant amount of Americans blame everything bad on the wealthy and clamor for ever more taxes heaped on them, they then find it strange that many wealthy choose to do business off shore.[quote=ldsuttonjr][quote=saltwind 78]PLT Sarge, I don't know of any American that is trying to destroy all that is America. Correct! As Franklin said: Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety.

Words well said. Is this not what we have in Congress now ? I am here and I'm not a Coward. I will stand with all my brother and sisters here. We have the power now to hold these Swamp Frogs to their words and their promises. Loved going frog gigging, so many years ago.
