I couldn’t agree more, mtmama. I have a college daughter that has gone full millennial on me and was ranting at me about feminism and the only thing I could think to say to her was “you can’t build something up by tearing something else down. We have to support one another to make things better. “ I don’t know if it sunk in but I wasn’t going to fight with her over it.

I think that what youve said is Common Sense, but common sense isn't all that common any more.

With no political affiliation, agenda, or party intent, millions upon millions of Americans wake early for their jobs to feed and spend some time with their kids. Love does that. It has no partisan affiliation. I feel this is the majority of Americans, day-to-day decent people loving their families and providing, as best they can, for their future and well-being. What political pundits Right and Left claim to divide our nation only confuses them. Their response is just be there for family and community. Is that unsophisticated and worthy of judgment? Left and Right say it is. What do you think?

Interesting how, if you were to ask, the vast majority of American adults would have no idea that there were more than two (or maybe 3) candidates for President of the United States in 2016. When I say 'vast majority', I mean probably better than 90%. Then there's this:

"As of November 1, 2016, a total of 1,780 candidates had filed a Statement of Candidacy with the Federal E******n Commission."

One thousand, seven hundred and eighty people put themselves forward as possible occupants of the Oval Office in 2016, yet only two or three were even seen or recognized. How sad is that? The average American has no inkling about his political situation or the people who are manipulating him or her by the information they provide or fail to provide. It hurts to see these millions of honest, hardworking people made fools of such a cavalier manner.

Here's the list:

My sister, back in the 70's did the same thing. My mom warned her once and then cut off ALL funds tuition, everything. It worked, she's a committed Conservative today. Mike

Well said. I see this point is a passionate one for you. If I may, you are facing in the wrong direction. Turn back to what you love, to family, and their agenda will fall away. Or I hope.

I agree! People have this insane notion that a sick and criminal fed gov’t and self serving press are the proper platform for civil discourse and interaction. It’s the dark side of a democracy, which used to be called the tyranny of the majority. Only very weak personalities are threatened by differing opinions.

Again that phrase the "dark side of democracy": I agree. No pundits or press can make family something other than central, though they try. The nations concerns are greater because of this and this and this, they tell us. Yet the basic unit of liberty is family. E pluribus unum: out of many, one. One is family. We are united under the cause of Liberty. That is the official surname of all American citizens, and that is our duty and responsibility to care for and protect that family.

The problem as I see it is the fact that those that are in office are multi wealthy and I don't have a problem with anyone being wealthy but it seems to me they are determined to amass more wealth and have a lust for power not to mention some pretty stupid line of thinking .

One only has to look at all the corruption in the political arena we are currently facing in this nation with both parties it makes no difference .

You are right. There is nothing wrong with being wealthy. It is not money but the love of money that corrupts. We need more strict observations of our local, state and national representatives, an easy access to how they v**ed, campaign contributions, and their policies. A bi-partisan State-Review in every county in America, under the auspices but not subject to or controlled by State Government. A convention by this body every two years to determine to bring up for e******n those that best represent our State and Federal constitution.

You nailed it, sir. Washington thinking is exactly as you described: They think tearing down is somehow building up, and no compromise or working together will make it better. And that feigned attitude works perfectly for them. We get bothered or outraged at this impasse, which is just a planned distraction to keep our eyes away from their "swamp" deals.
