The intent of my article is not Political Left nor Right; but Freedom / Liberty/ Rights versus Repression and Dominance. If possible, view my article without prejudice or predisposition to its conclusion. I’m not advocating ‘getting High’ as I am for the best possible usage of our Resources.
I’m not trying to be something, I’m not. I’m not an authority, by any means, on the subject.
I’m sipping on a Weihenstephaner ‘Hefe Weissbrier’ (a wheat based Bavarian brewed beer) while composing this article. Personally, it’s just an enjoyable taste. I’m not smoking a ‘joint’ and not trying to get a high from drinking a bottle of the Bavarian brewed beer (not on my budget); however, I’m just presenting facts versus the decades of propaganda flowing from the Waste Stream Media directed by a few Progressive Elites. I propose Freedom versus Tyranny.

The drafts of the Constitution, Declaration of Independence, and Bill of Rights were written on hemp paper (marijuana plant fiber).
However, the final copy was Parchment (treated sheepskin).

► Between 500 B.C. and the 19th century, 90 percent of all ships’ sails were made from hemp. The U.S.S. Constitution (Old Ironsides) used over 60 tons of hemp for its sails, rigging, rope, f**gs, oakum, etc.

► As late as the 1880s, the principle base material in America for 80 percent of all fabrics and textiles used for diapers, bed sheets, clothing, towels, linens, f**gs, rugs, quilts, drapes, and so on…was hemp.

► Until 1883, cannabis hemp was the world’s largest agricultural crop. As much as 90 percent of all paper in the world was made from cannabis hemp fiber as late as 1883. The Gutenberg (1455) and King James (1611) Bibles were printed on hemp paper.

► For thousands of years until the early 20th century, all good quality paints and varnishes were made from hempseed oil and/or linseed oil.

► 1 acre of hemp produces as much paper as 4.5 acres of trees, and the quality is superior. Hemp doesn’t require the toxic chemicals in the manufacturing process as tree based paper.

► Hemp can produce a stronger and lighter fiberboard than wood.

►Hemp can be used to produce strong, durable and environmentally-friendly plastic substitutes.

►Trees take years to grow until ready to be harvested for paper or wood while hemp is ready in only 120 days after it is planted.

► Hemp seeds contain protein more nutritious and economical to produce than soybean. Hemp seeds can be used for tofu, veggie burgers, butter, cheese, salad oils, ice cream, milk, and baked goods such as pasta, cookies, and breads.

► North Carolina company Hemp Technologies uses materials like HempCrete, Hemp Insulation, and Hemp Mulch to build livable hemp homes in the U.S. and Canada. The material is resistant to fire, termites, mold, and dry rot, partly because of the material's lime content which makes it harden over time.

► Hemp biofuel can be used in cars as a substitute for regular oil.

Summary:
Hemp can produce oil, fuel, building materials, clothing, food, acid-free paper, textiles, clean energy, cars, biodegradable plastics, and over 25,000 different products ranging from dynamite to cellophane WITHOUT toxic chemicals that are presently required.

If marijuana is so beneficial, why was it banned and made illegal? Answer is a pure, unadulterated Greed for money and power.

Just a thought. If they can breed marijuana to create a greater and better high on less smoking, why can't they breed a strain of hemp that produces no or virtually no high. Then there would be no reason to ban it for general production for all of the various uses itemized above. Just asking.

E - The cannabis plant that produces "hemp" is a different strain, grown under different conditions than marijuana.
Hemp is not psychoactive. Hence the form of cannabis you describe is already available, and has been for centuries.
I'm afraid Pullet is correct that it is greed (with a healthy dose of misinformation) that has kept all cannabis illegal.
The below article helps to understand the differences.

As to the legalization of marijuana...that's a different conversation I am happy to have on a another thread.

Best advice is do your research, the pot of today is NOT the pot of the '30s 40s 60s. It is much more potent. We all know how well intentioned ideas end up. Just look at the Government they always seem to morph into something not intended.

Complete hemp story:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hemp

Personally, my greatest grievance against prohibiting Marijuana is government's encroachment on our liberties and freedom.
The propaganda by the Hearst Corporation was an unrelenting assault against the hard working poor farmers that were just trying to make ends meet. Farmers were a grave threat to Hearst, DuPont's empires and had to be stopped. Marijuana, from my reading, is a very sturdy plant that needs little attention (pesticides, fertilizers) after it springs to life. Farming was being industrialized, and they were making headway, competing against the lucrative giants. Money talks, the lucrative giants marched in, stomping on anyone opposing their interests via legislation.

Some of the strongest opposition stems from the Pharmaceutical industries; middle man gangsters; fuel industries and government leaders.

I think, people should act responsibly, regardless of whether they drink, smoke or run for office!

I've probably been hit harder for insisting, demanding and enforcing equal justice for everyone. The same standards applies to everyone; regardless of your social standing or political influence. Travesty of justice starts at the top with our people, judges, and most of all, our people (apathy, little favors to justify your support, etc.) and the hirelings just follow suit.

Ms Clinton previously demanded at various times, the full force of prosecuting minions face prison time, such as the poor taxi cab driver, etc. FBI assisted with the obstruction of justice allowing her attorneys to simply destroy any incriminating evidence afforded them. This is wrong!

The same legal system musters its full strength against a young man, whose only crime was to possess a naturally grown substance, Marijuana to months, years and even a lifetime sentence of incarceration... this is injustice, no matter how you paint the picture.
I've seen honest, young men that have had their careers destroyed because they admitted to smoking Marijuana without any further substantiating evidence... this is wrong!

Thanks for clearing that up. I thought it was all the same plant, but in the old days the effects were vry weak and so it was easy to use hemp for all of those other great uses. So, why is that strain banned and not being used. That is the real question. Thanks.

1971, during my 2nd tour of duty within Vietnam, I learned our sacrifices were futile for a political ruse... I tried and used Marijuana on a routine basis.

Today's Marijuana is more potent than our supply in Vietnam? Returning stateside, I stopped using.
Not being facetious in any way, but I haven't any other comparison.

Hemp has no THC or any other psychoactive properties. You could smoke a pound and not get high. Pullet, don't think todays pot is a lot better than what we had in 'nam, but it surely smells, looks and tastes a lot better. Hemp is a whole different animal, and is the perfect environmental solution to plastics and a host of other products that pollute during production and disposal.

Just off the top of my head, I remember reading several articles that said there were competing corporate entities that successfully lobbied the federal government to reclassify hemp as the same as marijuana because it was a direct competitor to their own products. I am a big believer in the positive uses for it and think it should be put back in production.

According to Popular Mechanics, Henry Fords first Model-T was built to run on hemp gasoline and the CAR ITSELF WAS CONSTRUCTED FROM HEMP! The car, grown from the soil, had hemp plastic panels whose impact strength was 10 times stronger than steel.

Dr. Mercola has several articles on the benefits.

Me too, wh**ever will make us stronger as a sovereign free nation.

If Henry Ford built a car 10 times stronger than steel.
I wonder, is there possibilities of constructing aircraft using the same principles?
If solely hemp, would it be able to fly under the radar, how would you detect it from any other natural type debris? Large quantities, could it be less expensive?

Hopefully, we won't wait for the N. Koreans and Iranians to pave the way, to show us.
The Love of money, Greed is the greatest plague facing us.
