For all of the whining and yapping about the attack on the 2nd amendment, it is surprisingly quiet from the teapartyconservatives and the attack on the 17th amendment.

Imagine that, it is OK for conservativeteaprty types to call for changes they don't like, but NEVER,EVER TOUCH the amendments they do like.

Hmmmm, is the constitution a sacred document or not?

More wingnut desperation. The right wingers are in a panic because their base of angry white men is shrinking. Their party has little appeal to young women or minorities. Last year more minority babies were born than white ones.

Their brilliant idea is "how can we wean Americans off of the idea of thinking Democracy is a good thing" ?

Hence the false dichotomy of "We are a Republic not a Democracy". For the majority of Americans, who really can think and chew gum at the same time, we are a "DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC". The troglodytes cannot wrap their heads around the idea that these 2 words are not mutually exclusive.

The far right thinks they can no longer win the "pinball" game legitimately, hence their propensity to "tilt" the machine by anti-democratic manipulations like repeal of the 17th amendment.

The only problem, though, is that their machinations become t***sparent when the machine brightly blinks TILT!!!

It's just more ghost-dancing desperation...

maybe you should point out to me where I said it wasn't, what I was pointing out to you and you were too dense to see was that the constitution has been changed take a look at 18 and 21 not only was it changed it was changed back as a matter of fact every amendment is a change

So there nothing wrong with changing the constitution, right?

That must mean it is a living document.

No reason not to challenge the 2nd amendment and change it, right?

All amendments are changes, so why so much crying and teeth gnashing about SOME amendments?

It is ironic that I, as a naturalized citizen, know that the first ten amendments are considered the Bill of Rights, and therefore are not as easy to amend, while poor old Bo, who does as he is told without fail, does not know this.
Why am I not surprised?

Right wingers don't panic. We actually know how to use our guns. Eventually the gays will have accumulated enough power and authority that we'll be required to k**l them along with the muslims. It's really the only Christian thing to do.

Everyone has 2nd Amendment rights, including gays and muslims. Do you think they'll stand around and let you take free shots at them without firing back? Better think again.

How right you are. Their ranks are filled with gun owning chickenhawks that will s**mper and hide behind their wives skirts when the first shot is fired.
