My grandfather lived in Germany under Hitler. He had a habit of watching multiple news programs. As a young man, I asked why he watched the same thing three times on three different channels. He told me that they are the same stories but not the same things, the t***h is in the differences.

I have no trusted news source. I research stories I am curious about. I have a preferred news source; Fox News; they use fewer adjectives.

I think it's a bad idea to have a trusted news source. In fact, I find the question itself hints of religious-conservative culture, where t***h is handled like a commodity and trust becomes the bet you place on which source has the real thing. I guess you call it faith.

The problem with trusting a source is the resulting atrophy of your own intellectual self-defense. You don't need it if you can trust someone else to be your guide... so you don't use it as much... loose what you don't use. Atrophy.

Everyone should be questioning everything... to preserve our vitality, if nothing else.

I don't look to any one news source over the other and even sources that I generally watch it's not done because I trust them but because I've gotten into the habit of watching different programs. My morning news I look to ABC and same with my evening news then I switch to local. If I watch late night it will be MSNBC though on occasion I like to watch Kennedy on Fox business. I used to watch Fox regularly but it went through too many changes and I got out of the habit. I'm a person of habit more than I am a person of trust--that's because if I can't spot the bulls**t by now trusting someone won't make any difference...

One thing I don't do is listen to radio unless it's for sports or national news. No talking heads for me. Their whole point is to spread logical fallacies and I have no use for them...none...

And when doing research do you research liberal sites or conservative sites and which one contains the most bull and why?

I don't necessarily trust any news source, but these are the ones I most often read or listen to daily.

British Broadcasting
http://www.bbc.com

Jerusalem Post
http://www.jpost.com

The John Batchelor Radio Talk Show

Fox Business Network (cable)

Like my grandfather said, the t***h is in the differences. Which site is most accurate seems to depend on the issue at hand. All of them deal in BS. I prefer Fox because they provide more places to start, more directions to look to, and more variety of opinion. I look at stories from as many sources as I can find.

Although, I've said it's not even a good idea to HAVE a trusted news source, I would say Fox is the least trustworthy of all the mainstream options, just based on their business model. Fox News was established on a budget and the idea of cheap commentary rather than expensive journalism. They discovered that what really draws an audience is the impact of a story rather than the t***h of the story. So yes, where the mindful journalism of other channels often result in hum-drum t***h, Fox, being free of such limits like evidence and proof, can provide a far greater se******n of starting places.

They can always retract a story if pushed hard enough and they've come to learn how retractions can serve their legal purpose while still being swept under the rug of the next story. For me, Fox is more about exploiting the conservative mindset for profit than anything else and that's the one thing they do better than anyone else in the mainstream.

Fox's commentary is decidedly to the right but their news definitely leans left. They are falteringly unbiased. The other channels aren't so ho-hum as much as they are in lock step with one another. They make no effort to hide their bias and still call what they do, news. Fox carries a lot of topics that the others won't touch unless forced to carry them by the prominence of events. For my purposes, ascertaining the t***h, or at least getting as close to it as I can, Fox is the best starting point.

ms factual, you certainly can spot the dishonest post by Wolfie and his team of unhappy souls. I find when u watch opinion sites/show thats what you get and they are always slanted in their direction. NBC,ABC MSNBC, CBS news or opinion are always left-wing propaganda, nothing else. for Nation News Fox is the only news provider. Opinion:Rush is the best but I listen to lot of talk radio. When I was in the military almost 60 years ago my specialty gave me a lot of insight how the world is really run by a few bastards always looking for an advantage.

Actually, they don't. I mean they make mistakes on occasion but CNN and NBC still depends on quality journalism to keep their audience. Fox doesn't have to. They have a different kind of audience, and audience that is far more interested in hearing what they want to hear, and Fox knows this, which is why they are able to cash in on it.

Now, you can certainly find left-wing media that does the same thing Fox does, but Fox is the only source of F**E news that's been able to capture an audience in the mainstream media.

I know this sounds biased (and maybe it is a *little* bit), but there is plenty of evidence out there to back what I'm saying.

While left wing media simply ignores news that is unfavorable to their vested interests.
