If you are serious about wanting to watch in-depth coverage of serious (non-fluff) issues effecting this nation and the world, I would encourage you to watch Democracy Now, with Amy Goodman. It is non-commercial with very serious journalists. They are hired for their professional sk**ls, not because they have blow-dried hair and are "hot".

You can catch it streaming on the internet or on some cable or satellite systems. It is vastly superior to the major alphabet channels and Fox news. They are not beholden to advertisers, shareholders, or wealthy CEOs.

I tend to do CSPAN, NPR and BBC. I have found RT and Der Speigel to be excellent in objectivity. I will seek out Amy Goodman's curriculum vitiate, writings and commentary. I feel no necessity to be told what to think. I want only the basics of what, where, when and who. Unless the who has stated the why, any news reader (and that is all they are) cannot state the why.
