Would the word "disproportionately" sound better to you?

Where did I get this idea? 45+ years of working in the industry. Where do your ideas originate?

Docadhoc wrote, "No country on earth with socialized or national health care is anywhere near the population of America and like it or not, the cost rises exponentially. Double the population coverage costs much more than double the cost and America is as much as 5--10x the population of some of these countries being used as models."

Hmm...perhaps I should rephrase my question. I don't mean to ask for any justification of your authority to make the statement, "the cost rises exponentially". Being a Doc ad hoc (for this) might be justification enough. But what I would like to know are, what medical, economic, political, etc. factors support your statement?

I can think of a few economic ideas that might support (supply and demand) and some that might oppose (economies of scale).

Gracie, My wife is afflicted with very weak legs and balance due to falls. I retired way before I wanted to so I could accommodate her. I do my best to make her do physical Therapists have suggested work outs for her but she resists. Have you have these suggestions and do you follow their suggestions?

It is up to each and every one of us to do the best that we can for our selves and not rely on others, unless we can't do for ourselves. You figure out where you fit in.

Off of that, WELCOME ABOARD. I think you will find most here to be honorable, strict but willing to converse. You will also find no snowflakes, with the exception of a few who get spanked daily. No mourners here. Mike

I don't know if you got my reply. I'm not sure if it went thru to you. This is all new to me. And don't have my glasses on. My legs are bothering me today. Didn't want to get up and look for them. Its raining her. That means I'm hurting more than usual. Let me know if you got it. It was long. Answered your questions.

Person, don't want to sex you ( I h**e g****r used a sex) you hit the nail dead on the head. Good GOD Person, I'm amazed, thank you. But again you don't claim the illnesses, which we would be able to send prayers for. If that's not in your desire ok. Mike

V**e no on what? The repeal of Obamacare? Obamacare itself? We don't get to v**e on the new healthcare bill. Congress does. Are you asking us to contact our representatives to give our opinion? Obamacare was passed without my v**e and certainly without my approval. Please, Gracie, don't be under the delusion that Obamacare is out there to give you healthcare. It doesn't. Men and woman in the healthcare industry give you healthcare, not government bureaucrats. Government doesn't tax you to give you services, it gives you services to tax you and have power over you. The free market in healthcare is what has made your debilitating disease tolerable. Government's intrusion into healthcare is what is going to make everyone's misery equal.

People have accused me of lacking empathy over my opinion of Obamacare. Nothing could be farther from the t***h. My empathy just happens to extend to everyone. I don't think it is my place to steal your money and give is to my daughter (who, by the way, also suffers not one but two debilitating illnesses) nor do I think it your place to do the same to me.

Anyone who thinks socialized medicine is a good idea need only look to the socialists states of the world to see the result of their ideas. Do some research. Find out the survive-ability of persons in your predicament in, say, Venezuela or Cuba. You most likely would not have survived childhood, or perhaps even birth.

Screw the crawling first, get in the wheelchair, do what your told to strengthen yourself. Being defiant only makes it harder on those who are loving and caring about you. I KNOW! You've been dealt a raw deal, don't pass it on to those who love and want to help you. Unfortunately, you have to deal with what life has presented you, you can make it easier or you can make it hard, the later will be harder on you. GOD bless you and those who will stand beside you. Put your faith in GOD, Jesus and especially, Yourself. Get pissed off and over come your affliction. Talk to GOD and refuse to accept it. Good luck and GOD Bless you. Mike

What about Blue Cross/Blue Shield supports your contention that "cost rises exponentially"?
