To the extent this state has been gerrymandered it would not make any difference ... this is a one party state now and we are starting to see how well it works
Why is it when a Conservative State elects Conservative people to office, the liberals cry gerrymandering? Yet when a State is cut up in a way to insure liberals get elected it is "maintaining neighborhood integrity" or some such nonsense. If you want to enjoy all the benefits of liberal governance, move to Detr**t.
You want to see a gerrymandered district look at City of Houston. 20 or 30 years ago they annexed two conservative areas, The Woodlands and Clear Lake City. Recognizing that this meant two Conservatives on City Council. We cannot have that. So they created a single Council District. It encompassed the Conservative area of Clear Lake. It then ran 30 miles north, exactly the width of Interstate 45, and took in the Conservative areas of The Woodlands. These two areas had absolutely zero common interests, except being majority Conservative. Gerrymandering gles both ways.
