We used to have an equal time doctrine Any one broadcasting a partisan message o the public airways had to provide the opposition with equal time. Ronald Reagans FCC threw out that doctrine in 1988 and that same year Rush Limbaugh launched his show. I wasn't paying much attention to politics back then until a nephew introduced me too the pig Limbaugh and the world has not been the same since. The Democrats have been moving left for decades, but with Obama in office, (and the hope of Hillary succeeding him) they decided they no longer had to pretend to be remotely centrist, and they could finally "fundamentally t***sform" America from a free society based on individual liberty and free speech, into another third world banana republic dictatorship with a few elites, (themselves of course) in charge. The establishment Republicans are a spineless crew who have turned a blind-eye to the debasement of America's ideals and principles, and are willing to settle for talking about what needs to be done. When the hell did any conservative ever compromise. When I'm joined the Republican party in the late 1950's it had a liberal arm a moderate arm and a minority conservative arm. That is no longer the case the liberal arm was wiped out in the 1970's and the moderates have dwindled to the point conservatives dominate and they have no give I can remember Mr Conservative Sen Barry Goldwater having dinner with Ted Kennedy and co writing legislation that was a benefit to ordinary Americans. There is no possibility of any such thing happening these days

You've really lost it the Democratic party has moved right over the last 40 years. You really don't know much history do you. If that party had not moved right and Hillary Clinton had spoken to working class people in the rust belt she would have creamed Trump the billionaires but she and the party including Obama became wall street toadies and that's why the Democrats lost. Bill Clinton created the Democratic Leadership Council Allegedly a centrist organization designed to pull the Democratic party to the right and more business friendly he hired Dick Morris to advise him on how to be to the right and get a share of Wall Street money. When Hillary Launched her own political career she taped the wall street investment banks who paid her $250,000 per speech to speak at their luncheons and Obamas biggest campaign donor in 2008 was Goldman Sachs and not one wall street crook that marketed the fraudulent mortgage banked securities was ever indicted by Obamas DOJ. so the idea that the democratic party moved left is utter nonsense
