If you cannot find facts to support a pet theory, just make them up. Repeat them to as many people as possible and some will believe them. Those people will repeat them to a number of others and some of THEM will believe it. Repeat this pattern often enough and eventually, enough people will believe them that they will become fact.

People believe things to be fact because;

a: They wish them to be true
b: They fear them to be true
c: They know them to be true, by verification.

If the majority of people believe something to be fact, it is, for all intents and purposes. This is what I call the "self verification" system. "I believe this to be true because everybody else does". Using the above method, ANYTHING can become fact. Scientific verification is not necessary, self verification is sufficient for most people.

Even here on this forum this phenomenon is rampant. People are using each other as verification. Many of the links posted are extensions of the self verification system. Stating " I believe this to be true" has no value unless accompanied by a link to a site where there are others who also " believe this to be true". Scientific verification not required.

I believe this to be true, I defy you to prove otherwise.

A good example of that is the use of the fact that the B******i soldiers were not actually told to "stand down" but were told to "remain in place"
The left seems to spew this as a reason to stop all further investigation and point fingers.
Anyway you slice it Col. Gibson was told to not go and help the Ambassador when he was under stack.

Unless you are there you must rely on someone to tell the t***h! There are no facts only reported so-called facts! Facts end up being exactly what you believe to be the facts some people just do a little more investigation than others. I believe if you get your facts from governments documents you're a fool.

Well let me say that is a good picture of how things are.

But because deep down inside me I know that there are those that will say that is not so.

I believe but they don't so it can be no more than a half t***h.

Even in the face of being wrong they cancel us out.

But life goes on.

Ok...i liked what is being said on this site about opinions being "verfied"by other sites opinions. Thats happening on both left and right, but when its said that the b******i stand down order was given, without mentioning that it was given the day after the attack, when it was too late to help anyone(this is verified in the congressional report about the attack)

OK...here is some fact for you.

Normally, regardless of who our POTUS is, I've always considered the First Lady and their children off limits for ridicule.
But this was so insensitive to those Americans that happen to be struggling right now that I have temporarily lifted that ban.
This is utterly d********g:

Stunning insensitivity from Michelle Obama
Thomas Lifson

Michelle Obama's lust for luxury has always been a bit of a problem for her husband and Democrats in general. Jetting off to five star resorts with a large entourage has too much dissonance with the rhetoric denouncing ine******y currently in favor with the left. But the First Lady has now outdone herself, and because a picture is worth a thousand words, the damage may be a bit more serious than the occasional grumble over designer shoes and livin' large.

After all, millions of Americans are mired in unemployment, underemployment, and hopelessness. So in the face of all this, Michelle Obama has chosen to tweet on the FLOTUS twitter account a picture of her dogs dining on china and crystal:
