Call me weird. I am a strong conservative, but while I respect true Christians, I am not a Christian though I definitely believe in my supreme creator, God. I see good and bad in most people. But I see evil in some people. Obama and his cohorts are EVIL, not necessarily in the Biblical sense, but they are "without good vibes", and I think all of them are sociopaths who cannot understand most emotions and who don't understand what it is to feel guilt or shame. Some conservatives may also exhibit evil traits, I suspect they do, but at present cannot name any. But I don't believe that has much to do with Christianity or lack of same. I wish that we didn't entertwine religion with politics. It hurts both, or at least I think it does, and it accomplishes nothing for the believer or, in my opinion, the Christian faith. Example: I am very much against a******n on demand - not because of religion, but because a fetus has the right to life the rest of us have. And he can have it, if he isn't k**led first. That isn't a religious thing with me - it's a moral thing. Right or wrong - that's how I view life.

Hear, Hear,

This is a habitual scenario with the GOP. Not necessarily the Conservative party. I too believe in God. However, my God may differ from yours. I disagree with the Mantra "my God is better than your God". My observation is BO and the Progressives would much rather have America a (Secular theocracy) where Government funded entitlements are God. The whole Golden cow mentality.
Regarding A******n, it's wrong period. If your wishy ,washy or ambivalent on the topic we won't go far. Yes, I agree with Rape, incest, threat to a women's life. However, as a society we have moved way beyond that. It has become a form of Birth control. When an Fetus is six weeks old it has a Heart the size of a Poppy seed that is beating. To k**l it simply because it's an inconvenience or worse a liability, is Murder. I could go on with how many innocent lives have been terminated since the 70's. Or fill pages with documentation of perfectly viable human beings that were k**led only because they were born. The only thing those little ones were guilty of was being innocent.

Religion or the Belief in God, unfortunately, will not be a convincing enough option for a defense. As I previously stated we are becoming a Secular Nation. Again this falls right into the Progressives plan. More v**es and the polarization of this great country. This is yet another example of the Federal Government forcing it'self in a position it has no place being. Just as It has no place in deciding what constitutes a Marriage..

I think the same way you do about most things. As to your God and my God, I don't think it should matter at all to you what my God is and it shouldn't matter to me what YOUR God is. I worship mine in my way, you worship yours in your way, we don't bother each other, and no one is hurt. Is there something wrong with that scenario for most people?

Tasine- Big smiles, Historically, I only have to look across the ages to find hundreds of examples where theology has claimed thousands of lives. It's really quite heartbreaking when you put it into perspective. 6 million Jews are just one Pathetic example. On the other hand, this glorious country was founded on one part, to preserve Religious sovereignty. As I previously stated , I am not a wordsmith. So occasionally I am known to go on a bit. My philosophy on Religion is for some peculiar reason that Man consistently needs to have a (Ying and Yang) to it all. Dark and Light, good and evil.I suppose for some unknown reason , we need to justify or validate Happiness by having the Heinous.
In my humble opinion. Man innately has known Good from Bad. It's simply "Free Will" that is the "Common Denominator"

I agree with this sentiment completely. What I've found works for me is my modified "golden rule". I treat other people the way I want them to treat me, until they don't. After that I treat them the way they treat me.

From the Old Testament: Isaiah 53:6 - "All of us like sheep have gone astray; each of us has turned to his own way; But the Lord has caused the iniquity of us all to fall on Him ." ( He will die on the cross for our sins).
From the NT, Romans 3:10 - "There is none righteous, not even one. There are none who understand; there is none who seeks for God."
Man is not innately good; man is inherently evil. These are not my words, they are from the Bible, which is my choice to believe and accept.

You SEEM to be like every other conservative I have spoken with in the last year. You stuff every Liberal into a convenient cubby hole. It seems that facts are not the strong suit of many of the Conservatives I interact with.

1. I am an extreme left leaning Liberal. And our country's problems did not start with Bush. They started LONG before that. BUT Bush added two unfunded wars, so they didn't show up in the budget. Obama did exactly what an accountant would do. He put them in the budget, where they belong, cause you can't fix em if you don't acknowledge them.

2. I really don't want to argue with anyone who won't do the research somewhere besides a far right leaning website or TV show.

3. I don't want to attack anyone, but your post was an attack on Liberals. I was promised, when I signed up here, that there were intelligent conversations to be had. I am new, so I am waiting to see.

4. I don't call people names, but will occasionally say "Duh!"

5. I have too many sites that I visit to try to keep up with more than 1 name and password. Apparently, other Liberals are a lot smarter than I am.

6. I REALLY, REALLY, REALLY don't want to know ANYTHING personal. Please refrain from sharing!

7. I promise I will only post sources that would be accepted by an accredited university. This does NOT include Wikipedia.

8. I swear on my Grandmother's grave that I will never, ever, EVER email you. I want a VERY public conversation, nothing else.

Where'd you go, you just disappeared. I can agree with some of what you posted that I am responding too. Understand that I h**e Marxist, l*****t, progressives, liberals, c*******t, and so on. I hope you can cut it here, I learn from ideas and issues you clowns bring up. I consider you just another source of propaganda from the left that may counter propaganda from the right. I do not trust either side or party as far as that goes.

mark, why don't you try to find out the correct spelling of the bolded words in your post. Your posts would be so much easier for those of us who know how to spell to read.

It's nice to see another rational, logical, cognitive discourse on the basic reason most are posting on this site. Regardless of what side of the fence you are on. My observation is that "Emotions" verses "Pragmatism". Essentially, Innately that is, I am conservative. Does that equate to "Republican" or is it synonymous with conventional Republican Ideology. On the contrary, my Ideology is closer to yours. I Just want the Federal Government to do Precisely what our Constitution prescribes. Protect us from outside invasion and enforce the laws already on record. In short, leave me alone. Moreover, let the states hash-out the details. Do I subscribe to an all out Anarchy, No! the attempt would be a futile one at this point. However, I do believe I have the "Unalienable" right to Self preservation and my pursuit of happiness. Without Federal government interference. If one of those is dictated by the Second amendment , than so it shall be.
Reagan said " The Government has taken on responsibilities that it has no authority in. Furthermore, does not do them well"
The 10th article of the Bill of Rights is explicit in pointing out that the Federal Government should do only those things specifically called for in the Constitution. All others shall remain with the States, or the People.
I appreciate your posts. Carry on.

I actually agree with MOST of what you said! The problem that I have with most proponents of the 2nd amendment, is that they skip right over the FIRST part of it-that part about it being "well regulated".

Glad to see you back, and I am still awaiting a response on an earlier comment I made to you.

I left you some links and I can come up with many other links if you wish. Notice, I did try to stay away from what you would call blatantly biased right wing sources.

At the time of the passing of the 2nd Amendment, "well regulated" meant well trained, not governed by regulations restrictive or not. If you are a far left liberal, I believe you stated something to that effect, then you fear the rights of the people to think and act differently than you deem properly correct in you utopian world. The main reason being that you fear for the welfare of your Marxist/c*******t ideals and controls over the masses. The founding fathers feared all governments and wanted a means to remove the yokes of any government that became to intrusive and overbearing.

Of the millions of weapons in the hands of the public, just guessing, probably less than 1% of them are ever used against another human or even in a criminal act. All of us are against the unlawful use of firearms, however no laws will stop the criminal's use of firearms and you know that. And stopping criminal uses is not the goal, disarming the populace guarantees the Marxist government we now have complete control and that's what your type desires.

So you think that the federal government should regulate all gun owners just like they do coal mines, etc? I bet that is just what you are leaning at with those words. Go ahead and read the rest of the 2nd and maybe you can point out the part that says they should be able to do that little trick.
