That would seem reasonable, they laid everybody off when construction was in a down turn during Obama's meddling and construction has recently started back up again since Trump got elected. It is what is being claimed as part of the recovery Trump promised. Those laid off workers found something else to do or are wary of jumping back into an industry with such severe swings. The recovery is too young to claim there is any permanent shortage of workers; it simply is that the demand ramped up to quickly for all the slots to be filled immediately. The rest of the economy sucks and unless you have construction sk**ls you will still be unemployed.

Why do trump and the car manufacturers employ foreign workers

Not all- ALL-- foreign workers are undocumented, illegal, aliens, right? Ever hear of the 'Green Card' business of allowing folks to come here legally? Or do you see everyone not like you as 'foreign' and illegal?

There is no denying that and the habit of working for a living is easily broken when you can exist without. Some of those workers simply lost momentum and are now content with a subsistence living. Our tender sensibilities insist on regarding all mendicants as victims, who should not be demeaned or castigated, for living on the public dole and as a corollary they should have as many chatchkys as those who work for a living.

I remember a television program which featured a woman, who had lived her entire life on welfare, complianing that her free apartment had scraped hardwood floors and her giant television was not the latest plasma or wh**ever the newest tech is. Since she was black she atributed this to racial discrimination. I would commiserate with her except that I am a white, taxpaying, worker and I was footing the bill for her life of indolence. I was watching her lament on my 20 year old Toshiba 30 Inch TV that I bought from the Wiz scratch and dent room, while sitting in my house with scraped hardwood floors. All of which I paid for by my labors.

Basically, humans are a rather universally lazy species, for sure and a life without having to rise, get out, work and sweat sure appeals to most. And your remarks about what I would call an over-indulgent government is spot-on. Democrats are/were geniuses at spotting that human failure early on and they also capitalized on the tendency of the recipients to become ever-more dependent and therefore ever-more loyal to the 'Great Santa' party handing out the goodies is also accurate. We have mountains of proof.

That woman you describe, above, is a classic; those who are in the habit of receiving free stuff cannot be satisfied if they can imagine anyone getting more.
We can think of that as an expression of greed.. another human failure.

It's not the dems who enjoy crushing unions it's not the dems who resist raising the minimum waive so some of thes people could get out of poverty.
When Roosevelt signed the minimum waige bill it was a living waige.
And he said any busines who survived by paying less than a living waige had no place in this country. So you keep your foot on their throat and keep them down and whine because they need help. Typical greedy republican I got mine fuck everybody else.
God forbid you would have to Pay 25 cents more for your big mac

FDR- America's first truly socialist president.

Oh, and since when has it been the responsibility of government to see that everyone in this society enjoys a 'living wage'? Where is the responsibility for the individual to do what's necessary to rise and obtain that 'living wage'? I fought like hell for mine, never received one cent of 'living wage' assistance from big government. Maybe I was 'lucky' but early on I discovered the harder I worked, the 'luckier' I got.

So, yup, I have no caring for those who lie back and expect the government to hand them a 'living wage'.. none. So, take your socialist rage and stuff it, for all I care, ok?

I do firmly believe FDR's 'safety net' thing makes perfect sense for those who 'fall on hard times' but that safety net should not be perverted into a life style for the indigent and the lazy.
