kestone will create few permanent jobs and we will see very little if any of the oil. We will take all the environmental risks of the oil being piped across the us to the gulf ports where it will be shipped overseas.
You are right if they ship the oil somewhere else that's why we need people in ashington that care about America instead of these jokers that are in place now
Even if the oil went on the world market it brings down the price because of more supply. Right now we get oil from Canada shipped by rail. Most of the trains that ship it are owned by Obamas friend Warren Buffett, imagine that. It is far more likely a rail car will spill than the pe

Sorry bout that . Don't know what happened. Far more likely a rail spill than a pipe mishap.. The bull about permanent jobs you stated can be directly debunked by looking at N Dakota.

Pipelines create construction jobs and then when put into service they result in a significant reduction in jobs. Handful of permanent workers compared to the trucking and rail workers replaced by the pipeline.
The others compete by their flexibility. Pipelines are very inflexible.
Environmentally, the Keystone XL will almost certainly have leaks, most will be small possibility of a large one does exist. When being built, everything has state of the art shutdowns and such. When spills happen, it seems less likely they work.
The recent explosion of a gas line in Manitoba is an example. The fire burned for 12 hours. No excuse on a major t***smission line of that.
I believe it was a T***sCanada line too. Which complicates everything.
Back to the XL, the part of the line which will take oil to the coast and raise interior US oil and gasoline prices is already in operation, building the rest would tend to provide the oil to fill that leg.
Definately several congressmen and senators are not doing their job and neeed to go.

What about the recent spate of train derailments, oil cars breaking, exploding and burning, with the concomitant evacuations of thousands of people. And we must not forget the tanker trucks on the highways experiencing the same problems, overturning, multi-car accidents and burning, also causing evacuations of surrounding communities. Pipelines are MUCH safer, and less expensive to operate, nor do they tie up the Interstates with accidents. It is also much less expensive to t***sport. Buffet does not want the pipeline, it greatly diminishes his income. He ships by rail.
