Yes it is but what if no mouse, say touch pad only? With things moving away from desk top to portable machines mice are slowly going the analog route.

You might be right. I can't stand touch pads. I always connect a wireless mouse when I can, even with a touch screen. Nothing wrong with personal preferences.

Can't say I like them much but when your sitting somewhere with no room or no flat surface it's better than a pointers
